Onshore Delegation Went to the Minister of Mines and Energy to Discuss the Revitalization Program for Oil and Natural Gas Exploration and Production Activities in Onshore Areas
Petrobras has put several onshore oil fields up for sale, but the organizers are concerned, as the intention is to sell the onshore fields before the 2018 elections. Senator Garibaldi Alves Filho (MDB/RN) led a team that met on Wednesday (30) with Minister of Mines and Energy Moreira Franco to demand explanations about the progress of the Revitalization Program for Oil and Natural Gas Exploration Activities in Onshore Areas and how the sales of the onshore fields will be conducted.
Onshore Fields Offered for Sale by Petrobras
Petrobras is looking to sell the exploration, development, and production rights of concessions in four sets of onshore fields in Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, and Sergipe. Although the Union and the federal government are concerned about the offshore auction, the onshore fields generate jobs, investments, and increase the income of the regions where they are located. A great example is the Northeast region, which after the decline of onshore exploration and production activities has suffered huge losses.
