N5 has innovated not only in its service and product solutions but also in its selection process. To capture the attention and test the talent of professionals seeking a home office job, the startup uses an ‘internal meme’, Pistacchio, a cute kitten that asks various questions to LinkedIn users.
Julián also explains that they were inspired by McKinsey’s most demanding hiring method, which at a certain point uses a video game to identify the skills required for the position. And also the original method from Google, which a few years ago placed an equation on a poster located on one of the busiest routes in the United States, and those who managed to solve the problem and input the result into the search engine bypassed the first part of the selection process.
“Classic interviews are no longer sufficient to detect the necessary skills of people. We like to see the selection process as a video game too, in which the candidate goes through each level with the goal of completing their final mission. Moreover, we do not intend for our candidates to be good only in one area, but to have the necessary tools to develop in various others here. We want them to be part of our growth,” concludes Julián
