Get to Know ANTT
The National Agency for Transport (ANTT) is an agency created in 2001 to regulate and oversee the transport of goods and people in the National Road System, among other functions related to railways and pipelines.
ANTT was created during the presidency of Fernando Henrique Cardoso, through the law that provides for the restructuring of waterway and land transport, which also established the National Council for Integration and Transport Policies (CONIT), the National Agency for Waterway Transport (ANTAQ), and the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT), and other provisions. ANTT absorbed, among other things, the responsibilities related to the concessions of federal highways granted by the now-defunct DNER.
