Correios Will Soon Open New Public Competition with Thousands of Vacancies. The Exam Will Hire Candidates with High School and Higher Education for the Position of Mail Carrier.

The Brazilian Post and Telegraph Company, or Correios, is a Brazilian institution known for its extensive delivery and posting service network. Recently, there was a turnaround regarding the company’s privatization, with the news that it will no longer be sold. With this decision, the agency has refocused on its internal activities and demands, including the holding of a new public competition to address the lack of employees. The Correios Competition is, therefore, an excellent opportunity for those seeking stability and a solid career in a recognized institution.

New Public Competition Will Have 5,000 Vacancies for Mail Carriers

The expectation is that 5,000 vacancies will be offered in the public competition for positions requiring High School and Higher Education, which has generated great anticipation among candidates throughout Brazil.

After much speculation about the privatization of the company, this news has brought a lot of hope to those seeking a stable job opportunity with good benefits, as Correios is one of the largest public companies in Brazil and has a long history of providing essential services to the population.

So far, what is known is that Correios is expected to launch a new public competition for mail carriers soon. The announcement was made in January of this year when the Secretary General of the National Federation of Workers in Post and Telegraph Companies and Similar, José Rivaldo da Silva, confirmed the chance of a selection process with over 5,000 vacancies for positions requiring High School and Higher Education.

The secretary received information about the possibility of a new public competition during a meeting in Brasília with representatives of the Executive Board of Correios. The focus of the meeting was to discuss the claims of the agency’s employees. However, the public competition for mail carriers still needs to be approved by the new president of the entity, Fabiano Silva dos Santos.

Learn About the Positions, Salaries, and Benefits Offered for Working at Correios

The available positions will be for candidates with High School and Higher Education, with the largest number of vacancies in the Public Competition for the position of Mail Carrier.

The demand for a new competition at Correios is urgent, as the company has a need for 15,726 people, even though it has 85,000 employees, of which 10,726 are permanent staff approved in a competition.

The initial salaries offered by the company are R$ 2,179.25 for candidates with High School and R$ 6,333.54 for those with Higher Education, according to data from Findect.

Additionally, approved mail carriers will enjoy great benefits such as a food voucher of R$ 295.77, a meal or food allowance of R$ 1,039.50 for those working 5 days a week or R$ 1,228.50 for those working six days a week, health insurance, and transportation allowances.

Correios Achieves Highest Financial Profit in 22 Years

After achieving the highest financial profit in the last 22 years in 2022, Correios employees received full inflation compensation in salaries, benefits, and positions. The news was announced by Floriano Peixoto, president of the federal public company.

The executive spoke about the salary negotiation approved by the company, which is now in effect. The president states that it was his initiative to engage in negotiations with the workforce to bring the best possible agreement forward.

According to the approved text, Correios employees received full compensation in salaries, benefits, and positions, which is a matter of justice and a constitutional duty of the company to its workforce, its greatest asset. Floriano explained that the adjustment was only possible due to the significant financial profit attained by the company in 2021.
