The Central Bank Is Planning to Open a New Public Competition for Candidates with Secondary, Technical, and Higher Education with More Than 240 Vacancies.
Preparation for the next Bacen Public Competition is underway. According to Leonardo Sultani, Special Secretary of the Ministry of Economy (ME), the new announcement for the Central Bank is one of the priorities for the beginning of this year. Additionally, the request for the exam has recently been officially submitted to the Ministry of Economy. The request is for authorization of 245 vacancies.
What Positions Will Be Available for the Central Bank Public Competition?
The vacancies are for the positions of Technician, Analyst, and Attorney. Moreover, Fábio Faiad, former president of the National Employees Syndicate (Sinal), commented on the expectations for the announcement. Faiad states that there is a provision in the Budget Guidelines Law. There is no official confirmation, but it is progressing in the Ministry of Economy.
It is worth mentioning that, according to information from the ME, the authorization should occur with a larger quantity than requested. In an exclusive interview with Estratégia, the former president had already revealed that the absence of staff in the agency is significant, considering that the last Bacen public competition was held in 2013.

Last Tuesday (7), Sultani stated that the Central Bank competition is one of the priorities for the beginning of this year, during a meeting held with representatives of the union of the category, along with the president of the agency, Roberto Campos Neto.
After confirming that he would request a new announcement, the Central Bank of Brazil renewed the request for 245 vacancies in a new announcement, which is already being processed. The opportunities are distributed with 200 vacancies for analysts, 30 for technicians, and 15 for attorneys.
Requirements to Apply for Vacancies in the Bacen Public Competition
For the analyst position, a duly registered diploma of completion of higher education in any area, provided by an institution authorized or accredited by the MEC, is required. This professional works in managing the system of targets for inflation, the Brazilian payment system, and the circulation of funds, monitoring external liabilities, and proposing necessary interventions, among others.
For the technician vacancies, a duly registered certificate of completion of secondary education is required, issued by a officially recognized educational institution. This individual performs technical and administrative activities that complement the responsibilities of Analysts and Attorneys at Bacen, and executes support and technical assistance activities necessary for fulfilling Bacen’s responsibilities, among others.
Interested applicants for the Attorney positions must have a diploma of completion of a higher education bachelor’s degree in Law, issued by an educational institution accredited by the Ministry of Education (MEC), registration with the OAB, and proof of at least two years of legal practice. This professional will represent the Central Bank in judicial and extrajudicial matters, ascertain the liquidity and certainty of credits of any nature related to its activities, and register them in active debt for the purposes of amicable or judicial collection.
Salaries and Benefits Offered by the Central Bank of Brazil
According to the latest update of the Federal Public Servants Remuneration Table, the starting and final salaries for the main positions at Bacen are R$ 7,283.31 initial and R$ 12,514.58 final for technicians. R$ 19,197.06 initial and R$ 27,369.67 final for Analysts, and R$ 21,014.49 initial and R$ 27,303.70 final for attorneys. The workload for the positions is 40 hours per week.
It is worth mentioning that the last Central Bank competition was held in 2013 and offered 500 vacancies for technicians and analysts. The organization was carried out by Cebraspe/Cespe. At that time, more than 88,589 applicants were registered, resulting in a competition of 117 candidates per vacancy.
