The New Honda NXR 160 Bros 2026 Arrives in August Bringing a New Color in the CBS Version While Maintaining the Technical Package from the Last Update, Featuring a Flex Engine, Five-Speed Transmission, and LED Lighting.
The Honda introduced the NXR 160 Bros 2026 lineup, which is set to start arriving at dealerships in the second half of August.
The immediate highlight is the new blue color in the CBS version, aimed at those who prefer a discreet look, while the ABS version retains the gray and red options.
The suggested prices for the state of São Paulo are R$ 21,320 (CBS) and R$ 22,260 (ABS), prices that do not include freight.

Launch, Versions, and Colors
Targeted for urban use with capability for light dirt roads, the Bros continues to be offered in two configurations.

The CBS receives the unprecedented blue hue and preserves the proposal for a lower cost, with combined brakes.
The ABS version retains the already known colors, enhancing the safety package with anti-lock features.
According to the brand, deliveries to stores officially begin in the second half of August, in line with the distribution schedule for the 2026 lineup.
Equipment Retained from the Last Update
Although the color palette has changed in the CBS, the technical and equipment contents repeat what was introduced in the update launched in 2024 as part of the 2025 lineup.
In that movement, the Bros gained LED headlight and taillight, as well as a digital panel featuring a gear indicator, fuel consumption average, and tachometer.
The USB-C port has been integrated into the headlight fairing to power devices, and the dual-level seat now offers better support for the passenger without compromising the rider’s mobility.
Chassis: Recalibrated Suspension and Mixed Wheels
The current chassis was presented in 2025 and remains unchanged. The front fork now uses 33 mm tubes (previously, 31 mm), maintaining 180 mm of travel.
At the rear, the suspension received new calibration and preserves 150 mm of travel.
The spoked wheels continue with 19″ at the front and 17″ at the rear, fitted with 90/90-19 and 110/90-17 tires to balance stability on asphalt and traction on low-grip surfaces.

Brakes: Front ABS and CBS with 30/70 Distribution
Another change established in the recent range was the arrival of the ABS version, whose operation is limited to the front wheel.
The CBS retains the combined actuation system that directs 30% of the force to the front brake and 70% to the rear during braking via the pedal.
In both versions, the discs measure 240 mm at the front and 220 mm at the rear.
Reprogrammed Flex Engine and Five-Speed Transmission
The mechanical assembly remains the well-known air-cooled single cylinder of 162.7 cm³ with a FlexOne system. When powered by ethanol, it delivers up to 14.3 hp at 8,000 rpm and 1.45 kgf.m at 5,500 rpm.
Starting from the 2025 lineup, the electronic control unit was reprogrammed to meet stricter emission standards, resulting in a slight reduction in power and torque compared to the 2024 configuration.
The five-speed transmission maintains the fifth gear elongated by 3.6%, a solution aimed at reducing revs at cruising speed and improving comfort during continuous travel.

Ergonomics, Tank, and Dimensions
In the structural assembly, the Bros retains the 12-liter metal tank with plastic protections and the integrated luggage rack with the side handles.
The ergonomics received a subtle repositioning of the handlebar in the previous update, a measure that improves the reach of the controls without altering the typical posture of trail bikes.
The dry weight is declared as 125 kg, the seat height is 836 mm, and the ground clearance measures 247 mm.
Production and Continuation of the Project
Between July 2024 and June 2025, Honda manufactured 180,000 units of the NXR 160 Bros, summing up the ABS and CBS versions.
For the 2026 lineup, the manufacturer maintains the technical and visual set introduced in the previous update and adds only the new blue option in the CBS.
Urban Performance and Mixed Use
In urban riding, the proposal remains the same: low-maintenance flex engine, short gearing in the first gears for quick starts, and a longer last gear for low revs on fast roads.
The suspension calibration prioritizes comfort, something perceptible on uneven pavements.
Off the asphalt, the mixed-use tires, ground clearance, and contained weight allow for ventures on dirt roads, as long as they remain within the limits of a light trail.

Direct Competitors on the Radar
In the entry-level trail segment, the Bros 2026 targets rivals such as Yamaha Crosser and Honda XRE 190.
The former competes on price and a similar usage proposal, focusing on daily commuting and occasional dirt stretches.
On the other hand, the XRE 190, positioned above by Honda itself, offers a larger displacement and niche content, but remains on the horizon for those considering a step up.
In this scenario, the Bros maintains its appeal in acquisition cost, service network, and mechanical robustness recognized by the used market.
What Changes for the Consumer
For buyers who already considered the Bros in the previous lineup, the arrival of 2026 does not change specifications or performance.
The practical novelty is the color option in the CBS version and the confirmation of suggested prices in São Paulo, excluding freight.
For those looking to update their bike or enter the category, the package remains current, with LED lighting, full panel, and USB-C connector.
Meanwhile, the maintenance of the front ABS and CBS combined system caters to different usage profiles without changes to the riding experience.
Finally, the question that remains for the consumer is straightforward: between the new color, the known package, and the price aligned with the segment, what matters most in your choice between the Bros 2026, the Yamaha Crosser, and the XRE 190?
