On Monday, the crossing of vehicles via ferry between Itajaí and Navegantes was authorized, provided that passengers do not leave the car during the trip. The Merchant Marine extended on March 19 through Ordinance No. 85, for up to 120 days the validity of all licenses and certificates expiring by July 31, 2020, for aquatic professionals throughout the national territory.
The postponement also applies to vessels, which may defer their annual, intermediate, and renewal inspections that would have been conducted by July 31.
To ensure the continuity of essential supply deliveries to the population while simultaneously mitigating the impact of the coronavirus on the economy, the National Agency for Waterway Transportation has announced that all port and cabotage operations along the Brazilian coast must continue.
Portonave and the Port of Itajaí continue operations, with all ship schedules maintained. Both ports have informed through their communication channels that they are equipped with a containment plan against the virus and that all directives from the ANVISA are being followed.
The Itajaí and Navegantes Port Complex is also continuing the series of tests for the new evolution basin, already scheduled for April and May for the entry of ships over 306 meters.
