Offshore Wind Energy Production Projects In Brazil Are The Energy Market Bet For The Future And The Energy Transition Company Corio Plans To Build Five Plants In The National Territory With The Support Of Servtec
As of this Friday (08/07), the focus is on the expansion of offshore wind farms in Brazil over the coming years, and Corio has five projects for the construction of wind energy plants in mind for the national territory. To this end, the company will partner with the Brazilian energy production company Servtec, and aims to use cutting-edge technology to expand its presence in the Brazilian energy market.
Five Offshore Wind Energy Plants Are Being Planned By Corio And Servtec To Be Installed In Brazilian States In The Coming Years
Brazil is on the radar of companies worldwide for the development of offshore wind energy projects, as this market has high potential in the national territory. Aiming to take advantage of this scenario, the energy transition company Corio has offshore wind plant construction projects in mind to be developed in partnership with Servtec in Brazil.
Thus, the next step for the companies will be to request leases for the five fixed-bottom projects in the maritime areas of the northeast, southeast, and south of the country, ranging from about 500 MW to over 1.2 GW in installed capacity. The companies’ projects have installed capacities of 1.2 GW, 495 MW, 1.2 GW, 1.2 GW, and 1,170 MW and will be responsible for boosting the economic development of the respective states over the coming years.

Having worked together on the plant projects for more than 18 months, Corio and Servtec are constantly analyzing the wind energy market in Brazil and have selected the five areas based on both production potential and market profitability.
Thus, Jonathan Cole, CEO of Corio Generation, emphasized that these five plants will be essential for the company’s entry into the American continent and reinforced the focus on Brazilian territory, due to the geography that is favorable to the development of these offshore projects.
Servtec Highlights The Importance Of The Partnership With Corio For The Wind Market In Brazil And Projects Great Results With The Plants
Following the announcement in January of this year for the regulatory framework of offshore wind energy in Brazil, companies from around the world began to present their projects to the Brazilian government. Thus, Servtec seized the moment to partner with Corio, which already has a presence in the international market, and believes that the five plants could bring great economic benefits to the country and the companies.
In this way, Lauro Fiuza Neto, managing partner of Servtec Energia, stated: “It is an honor for Servtec to join forces with Corio to support offshore wind energy in Brazil. As a long-standing participant in the renewable energy sector, we have led efforts to build what is now a 22 GW onshore wind energy market. We are excited to embark once again on a journey to create a complementary source of clean energy for Brazil towards the low-carbon economy of the future.”
