Curitiba Hosts, on May 14, the Black Employability Drive with Over 1,000 Job Openings Focused on Racial Inclusion and Opportunities for Black Women
The city of Curitiba will host, on next Wednesday, May 14, an initiative aimed at inclusion in the job market. The State Department of Labor, Qualification, and Income promotes the Black Employability Drive, from 9 AM to 4 PM, at the Worker’s Agency of the capital, located at Rua Pedro Ivo, number 503, in the city center. Tickets will be distributed until noon.
Over 1,000 Job Opportunities
There will be more than 1,000 job openings offered by around 20 companies from various sectors. The event aims to increase opportunities for the Black population of Curitiba and Paraná, facilitating access to the job market.
The initiative is part of the official calendar of Labor Month, promoted by the State Government, and seeks to encourage both employability and professional qualification.

Inclusion and Diversity as a Priority
The State Secretary of Labor, Qualification, and Income, Do Carmo, highlighted that the drive is an important step toward increasing representation.
According to him, the partnership between the public sector and companies is essential to combat inequalities and promote racial equity. “It is an action that strengthens the fight for equal opportunities and broadens access to the job market,” he stated.
Furthermore, Do Carmo mentioned that the event is a concrete opportunity for those seeking employment or wishing to re-enter the job market. He emphasized that the collaboration of companies reinforces the commitment to a fairer and more inclusive society.
“With the partnership of various companies, the event is an excellent opportunity for those looking to enter or reintegrate into the job market, as well as being a space that values and strengthens the Black community in Paraná.”
Focus Also on Black Women
The State Secretary of Women, Racial Equality, and Elderly, Leandre Dal Ponte, also emphasized the importance of the initiative. For her, the drive is a support tool for the Black population facing difficulties returning to the job market or securing a new position.
“Public policies and actions like this from the SETR are necessary for the Black population, especially Black women, to improve their employability and quality of life,” she stated.
Other Actions in Labor Month
The event on the 14th is part of a series of actions taking place in Curitiba during May. On the 7th, a drive aimed at people over 50 years old was held.
On the 20th, a different activity will take place at the Oswaldo Cruz Gymnasium. At that occasion, 100 pre-selected candidates will participate in physical and behavioral activities. The resume will be reviewed only at the end of the process.
To close Labor Month, a large drive will take place on May 28 in the Cajuru neighborhood. More than 3,000 job openings will be offered by over 50 participating companies.
Last Chance in May Will Be in Cajuru
The closing of the actions will be marked by a large-scale event. The drive in Cajuru will feature over 50 companies and a total of more than 3,000 job opportunities, solidifying the month as an important period for job seekers.
