UFG Opens Enrollment for Brazil’s Higher Education AI Course. Discover Brazil’s 1st Higher Education AI Course and the Bet on the Future of Technology.

In a scenario that marks the rise of future careers, Federal University of Goiás (UFG) surprised by revealing that its 1st Higher Education Artificial Intelligence (AI) Course in Brazil has become the most sought-after program at the institution.

In the latest edition of 2025 of the Unified Selection System (SiSU), the AI course had the highest cutoff score among all courses at UFG.

This news reflects a significant shift in the aspirations of young students and the perception of the job market. For those dreaming of being part of this technological revolution, the good news is that enrollment for the UFG entrance exam is open.

The phenomenon, which reverses a trend of years, demonstrates the growing interest and appreciation for an area that is reshaping all sectors of the economy.

The decision of thousands of candidates to prioritize AI over a profession that has historically topped the competition, such as Medicine, signals that technology, and especially artificial intelligence, is seen as a pathway of great potential for professional success.

Pioneering and Strategy: The Success of UFG’s Course

The course, which was created in 2019, before artificial intelligence became such a popular topic of conversation, is an example of the pioneering spirit of Federal University of Goiás

UFG not only created the degree but conceived it with a philosophy that sets it apart from the others.

The program is directed towards entrepreneurship and has a close relationship with major companies in the job market, which provides students with practical insights aligned with industry demands.

From the beginning, the AI course was designed to be more than just theoretical training.

Students begin developing AI technological solutions early in their college experience, which enhances its practical nature and prepares them for real-world challenges.

This proactive approach focused on problem-solving, rather than just accumulating knowledge, is one of the main attractions for students seeking not only a diploma but a solid and innovative career.

The university, through partnerships and joint projects with major companies, ensures that technical knowledge is constantly updated, keeping the course at the forefront of technology.

The New Competition in SiSU: AI vs. Medicine

Historically, the Medicine course has always reigned supreme as the most competitive with the highest cutoff score in SiSU. For years, the entrance exam results at Federal University of Goiás followed this same logic.

However, the scenario has changed drastically. In the 2025 edition of the Unified Selection System (SiSU), the race for spots in Artificial Intelligence intensified to such an extent that the cutoff score became the highest at the institution, exceeding that of Medicine which had led for years.

This reversal is not just a statistic, but a reflection of transformations in the job market and society.

While Medicine continues to be a profession of great social value, AI emerges as an area of vast opportunities, with the potential to impact everything from healthcare to logistics, agriculture, and industry.

The high cutoff score of UFG’s course shows that young talents are aware of these changes and willing to invest in a career that promises to be one of the most promising of the century.

The popularity of the course is due not only to the high demand but also to the quality of a program that was born with a well-defined purpose aimed at the future.

The selection process for the Artificial Intelligence (AI) course at UFG is now open for enrollment, with a final deadline of September 5. For candidates wishing to apply for a waiver of the R$ 130 fee, the deadline ends on August 14.

The 2026 entrance exam will be held in a single phase on October 19, with an exam composed of 96 objective questions.

This edition marks a strategic return for the institution, which now offers two pathways for admission to the course, both through its own entrance exam and through the Unified Selection System (SiSU), expanding opportunities for those interested in the field.
