In the Rio de Janeiro, an opposite scenario was found for ethanol, sold for R$ 6,410, the highest average among the states. According to Douglas Pina, Head of Urban Market at Edenred Brazil, “Despite the drop in ethanol prices recorded in the first days of December, when compared to gasoline in the 70/30 ratio, the fuel is not worthwhile when refueling, according to the Ticket Log survey. Last month, drivers in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, and Espírito Santo could continue opting for gasoline as the more advantageous option,” he reported.
Diesel and Diesel S-10 were sold at the highest prices at gas stations in Minas Gerais, at R$ 5,483 and R$ 5,555, respectively. In São Paulo, both fuels had the lowest averages in the region, at R$ 5,312 for the first and R$ 5,391 for the second.
