Bluetti Developed An Innovative Solar Energy Generator. The Product Is The First On The Market To Use Sodium-Ion Batteries, Potentially Retiring Lithium-Ion Batteries

Bluetti, a U.S. manufacturer and a global leader in solar energy installations, announced that it has become the first company in the world to create and launch a generator that uses batteries made from sodium-ion. The company’s new release aims to end the dominance of lithium-ion in the consumer market and rely less on the lithium market, which has recently faced some large-scale demand bottlenecks.

The new product is part of the new “kit” presented by Bluetti, which includes the solar-powered generator NA300 and the B480 batteries, both made with sodium-ion replacing lithium.

It is evident that, due to being a recent technology, the company’s new batteries still come with some capacity limitations. The solar-powered generator NA300 has a modest capacity of 3,000 Wh, which is significantly lower than the 5,100Wh of the EP500 Pro model, also from Bluetti. However, this technology is still in the early stages, and moving forward, the U.S. company will focus on its evolution.

Currently, we have available on the market a world’s fastest graphene portable charger, which promises to recharge your phone in 7 minutes, withstands over 2,500 charge cycles, or about seven years of daily use.

Bluetti Generator Can Support Up To Two Battery Modules

The generator’s capacity should not pose a major obstacle for those who purchase it, as the solar-powered generator can support up to two modules of sodium-ion batteries B480 of 4,800 Wh, elevating the total capacity of the generator to 12,600 Wh.

With this launch, the company aims not only to innovate in the battery and generator sector but also to be less dependent on the current lithium market, which is facing various problems due to high demand. Switching from lithium to sodium-ion batteries can generate several advantages for the company, primarily due to the fact that it is up to 1,000 times more abundant in the Earth’s crust.

Bluetti announced that it will provide more information about the new generator and sodium-ion batteries during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which will take place from January 5 to 8 next year.

Meet The Company

After 10 years of research and work in the energy storage sector, in 2019, Wondar Law and Jame Ray met in California and set out with the vision of creating a minimalist portable power station that would be part of many Americans’ lives.

The first products from Bluetti, EB150 and EB240, were launched on Amazon in July 2019 and have been well-received by consumers ever since. A year later, the company launched its flagship model, the AC200 as a crowdfunding project and raised nearly $7 million in just two months. At the same time, after moving from Los Angeles to Denver, the company established itself in Vegas, Nevada, where it is currently headquartered.
