GoSun’s Compact Model Combines 27-Horsepower Motor, 24 kWh Battery, All-Wheel Drive, 220-Volt Charging, Optional Solar Roof, and Capacity to Lift Up to 750 Kilograms on Small Farms and Vineyards.
GoSun has unveiled the Moonrider 27, a compact electric tractor boasting 27 horsepower, all-wheel drive, a 24 kWh battery, and a runtime of up to five hours, designed for small to medium-sized farms.
Electric Tractor Combines 24 kWh Battery and All-Wheel Drive
The Moonrider 27 was developed as an alternative to diesel-powered tractors. According to GoSun, the model is 100% electric, aiming to reduce emissions and maintenance costs associated with conventional thermal systems.
The electric motor delivers a peak power of 27 horsepower. The vehicle also employs an all-wheel drive system, identified as AWD, to operate on uneven terrain, muddy areas, and surfaces that offer little traction.

Energy is stored in a lithium battery with a capacity of 24 kWh. As per the manufacturer’s specifications, the charge allows for up to five hours of continuous work under normal operating conditions.
The transmission offers nine forward speeds and three in reverse. The configuration also includes a single-disc dry clutch and oil-bath brakes, components designed to withstand prolonged periods of use.

Solar Panels Generate Energy and Protect the Operator
One of the features of the Moonrider 27 is the ability to install a structure with solar panels on the roof of the cabin. This setup has a power output of 1,100 watts and can generate energy at the site where the tractor is operating.
The modules are foldable and serve a dual purpose. When unfolded, they form a canopy over the operator’s area, offering protection against direct solar radiation during agricultural activities.
Despite its integration into the design, the solar roof panel is offered as an optional item. The company notes that customers who reserve before October 1 may receive the equipment at no additional cost.
Conventional charging can be done at 220-volt outlets. With this infrastructure, the 24 kWh battery takes approximately two and a half hours to charge from 20% to 80% of its usable capacity.
Compact Dimensions Facilitate Access to Narrow Areas
The tractor measures 2.68 meters in length and 1.04 meters in width. The wheelbase is 1.57 meters, while the overall height reaches 2.27 meters.
The minimum ground clearance is 27 centimeters. This height was determined to allow the machine to overcome obstacles found on farms without compromising the lower part of the chassis.
In operational order, the Moonrider 27 weighs 1,095 kilograms. The reduced dimensions make it suitable for use in locations where larger tractors may be inefficient or unable to enter.
The manufacturer highlights small properties, greenhouses, and vineyards with narrow corridors between the areas suitable for using the model. The goal is to primarily serve small and medium-sized agricultural operations.
The width of 1.04 meters aids in maneuvering in plots with limited space. At the same time, the all-wheel drive enhances the ability to navigate uneven or low-traction soils.
Rear hitch lifts up to 750 kilograms
Despite its compact structure, the electric tractor features a three-point hitch at the rear. The system offers a lifting capacity of up to 750 kilograms to transport or move equipment used on the properties.
The Moonrider 27 also comes equipped with a standard power take-off. This component delivers 22.8 horsepower and allows for the connection of traditional agricultural implements to the vehicle.
Among the compatible equipment mentioned are brush cutters, cultivators, and trailers. Thus, the tractor can perform different tasks without solely relying on accessories designed for electric systems.
The presence of the hitch and power take-off maintains compatibility with conventional implements, a necessary aspect for the vehicle to be utilized in the routines already adopted in small and medium-sized properties.
Announced price includes vehicle and 220-volt charger
The initial price disclosed for the Moonrider 27 is around US$ 20,000, also presented as approximately €17,100. The package includes the tractor and the charger compatible with 220-volt outlets.
The solar structure installed on the roof is not part of the regular configuration included in this price, except under the condition announced for reservations made before October 1.
GoSun has distributors in France, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic. The presence in these three countries creates the possibility for marketing the new electric tractor in the European market.
