Pará Will Host Project by Celba, Golar Power, and Evolution Power Plants (EPP) Involving a Floating Regasification Terminal (FRSU) in Vila do Conde.
The A-6 energy auction that took place on Friday (10/18) continues to yield good news regarding integrated natural gas projects.
One day after the auction, Click Oil and Gas had already reported that 21,200 jobs will be created in 91 projects contracted in the Auction. The highlighted state now is Pará.
The highlight of the deals closed in the Aneel auction has been the integrated natural gas projects, which include a Regasification Terminal, processing unit, and thermoelectric plant.
After we reported on the progress of the works at the Azulão field in Amazonas, another integrated project will gain prominence in the growing demand for natural gas enterprises. This is the first LNG terminal in Pará.

The Project
The integrated project for liquefied natural gas (LNG) import, power generation, and commercialization in the municipality of Barcarena includes the Novo Tempo thermoelectric plant (UTE), which was negotiated in the new energy auction A-6 this Friday (10/18).
The project will offer up to 15 million m³/day of gas in Pará and will require investments of R$ 1.5 billion in the plant.
The investment belongs to Centrais Elétricas de Barcarena (Celba), in partnership with Golar Power and Evolution Power Plants (EPP), and the project plans to construct a floating regasification terminal (FRSU) in Vila do Conde (PA), interconnected to the UTE Novo Tempo, supplying local natural gas consumers.
Regarding the type of energy source, thermoelectric plants lost, in negotiated volume at the auction, to wind energy, but nonetheless, 604 MW of power were negotiated, with a physical guarantee of 584 MW, at US$ 188.95 MWh, while the average sale price in the auction was R$ 176.
In total, three natural gas UTES were contracted at an average final price of R$ 188.87/MWh and a total capacity of 734.13 MW. In addition to the project in Pará, we will have the Eneva project in Maranhão and Prosperidade II from Imetame in Bahia.
