Project in the Amazon Basin Also Includes a Gas-fired Power Plant to Be Built by Techint and a Gas Treatment Unit
A ceremony in the municipality of Silves, Amazonas marked the beginning of construction of the liquefaction terminal at the Azulão field, by Eneva.

The Minister of Mines and Energy stated that the enterprise is part of the New Gas Market, “Our commitment is not just to provide cheaper energy but also to ensure that natural gas becomes a reality with sustainable development and the reindustrialization of Brazil. About 70% of our industry depends on gas, and we will supply that,” said Bento Albuquerque.
The entire project in the Amazon Basin has an investment of R$ 1.8 billion, and the expected minimum annual revenue is R$ 2.7 billion.
Eneva acquired the power plant through the energy generation auction held by Aneel in May of this year, and the Azulão field was purchased from Petrobras last year.
Eneva paid US$ 56.5 million for the asset, which includes three drilled wells, two of which are producers and one injector, with an estimated reserve of 3.6 billion m³ of natural gas.
