The Federal Institute of São Paulo Opened Thousands of Free Places in Face-to-Face and Distance Technical Courses for 2026. The Selection Will Have an Exam in December 2025, with Opportunities Distributed Across Dozens of Campi in the State.
The Federal Institute of São Paulo opened 7,362 free places for technical courses starting in the first semester of 2026.
The opportunities cover the integrated with high school, concurrent/subsequent modalities, and distance education (EAD) courses at accredited centers.
The selection will be made through an objective exam scheduled for December 7, 2025, lasting three hours.

Senar offers more than 450 vacancies in free technical courses in the areas of Agriculture, Forestry, Animal Science, Agribusiness, and Occupational Safety in Agriculture; the opportunities are available in both in-person and hybrid formats through Senar MS.
The participation fees are R$ 60 (integrated) and R$ 30 (concurrent/subsequent).
Among the open places, 4,192 are for integrated technical courses, 3,080 for concurrent/subsequent courses, and 90 for subsequent courses.
The opportunities are distributed across 40 campi in the state, reaching cities such as Araraquara, Campinas, Guarulhos, Jundiaí, São José dos Campos, Sorocaba, and the capital.
How Each Modality of Technical Course at IFSP Works
In the integrated modality, the student takes high school and technical education together at IFSP.
It is required to have completed elementary education by the time of enrollment.
In the concurrent modality, the student attends technical education at IFSP while attending high school at another school.
In the subsequent modality, the requirement is to have completed high school.
In 2026, IFSP allows participation as a “trainee” — those who do not meet the enrollment requirements can take the exam to understand the format.
The selection process also permits up to three course options, as long as they are within the same campus and the same chosen modality.
Calendar of the Selection Process at IFSP
The application period runs from September 23 to October 20, 2025.
Those who meet the income and educational history criteria established by law can request exemption from September 23 to October 1, 2025.
Payment of the fees can be made until October 21, via GRU at Banco do Brasil.
The final list of applicants is expected on October 30 and the final result of the process on January 13, 2026, according to the institutional schedule.
The exam will consist of 30 multiple choice questions, with 15 in Portuguese language and 15 in Mathematics, based on content from 6th to 9th grade of elementary education.
The exam will take place in the municipality of the chosen campus by the candidate.
Free Technical Courses Offered in 2026
The offer includes traditional technical areas and expanding fields.
Options are available in Mechatronics, Information Technology, Logistics, Food Technology, Administration, Construction, Electroelectronics, among others.
In the distance learning format, notable options include technical courses in School Secretariat (EaD) with in-person classes at UAB centers in São Paulo (Jardim Santa Lucrécia) and Botucatu.
There are also offerings such as Human Resources (EaD) at specific campi.
The duration varies by course, with loads of two to four semesters for concurrent/subsequent courses and three to four years for integrated courses.
Quota Rules and Specialized Assistance
Half of the spots for each course are reserved for those who completed elementary education entirely in public schools.
Within that percentage, there are subquotas for candidates from low-income backgrounds, Black, mixed-race, and indigenous individuals, quilombolas, and people with disabilities.
IFSP also provides specialized assistance for those needing specific conditions to take the exam.
For validation of self-declarations, there will be a hetero-identification committee, with steps defined in the schedule.
Where to Access the Notice and Follow the Process
All the rules are included in Notice No. 211/2025, a document that governs the selection process and details participation criteria, enrollment documentation, and a complete mapping of offers by campus.
The organization of the selection process is conducted by the CEFETMINAS Foundation, under the supervision of IFSP.
It is recommended to read the entire notice and the material in plain language, which summarizes the main points to facilitate understanding for candidates of different profiles.
In addition to checking the requirements for each course, candidates should pay attention to the dates for the disclosure of partial and final results, the appeal procedures established, and the deadlines for enrollment.
The official schedule establishes, for example, the disclosure of the answer key on December 8 and the preliminary result on December 17, 2025.
The first call for enrollment is scheduled for January 15, 2026.
If choosing EAD courses, it is necessary to confirm the on-site support center, where mandatory activities such as evaluations and practicals take place, as specified in the Offer Map.
In all cases, registration must be done with attention to educational requirements and, in the case of concurrent courses, to the active enrollment in high school.
How to Register for the Selection Process
Registrations are open until October 20, 2025 and must be made exclusively online, on the official IFSP website.
The candidate needs to fill out the electronic form, choose the modality and desired campus, and generate the payment slip for the corresponding fee.
