The Federal Institute of Espírito Santo announced a new selection process with 120 spots for courses in free technical education in the EJA (Education for Young People and Adults) modality. The selection is aimed at the second semester of 2026 and will be held at the Vitória Campus, with in-person registrations from April 1 to June 10.
The goal is to provide professional training combined with the completion of high school, expanding access to education for adults who did not finish their studies at the regular age. In addition, the initiative reinforces the role of the Federal Institute in social inclusion by providing quality public education and concrete opportunities for professional qualification.

The spots at the Federal Institute are distributed across three free technical courses in the EJA modality, all in-person. Each area meets important demands of the regional job market, which increases the employability chances of the students.

Federal Institute guarantees inclusion with reserved spots
One of the highlights of the selection process is the inclusion policy. Of the total spots, 50% are reserved for affirmative actions, benefiting students from public schools, people with disabilities, as well as black, brown, indigenous, and quilombola candidates.
Thus, the Federal Institute strengthens democratic access to free technical education. Therefore, the measure expands opportunities for historically disadvantaged groups.
Who can apply for the spots?
To participate in the selection process of the Federal Institute, it is necessary to meet some basic criteria. The candidate must be at least 18 years old by the start of classes.
In addition, it is mandatory to have completed elementary school and not have finished high school. These requirements ensure that the target audience of EJA is adequately served.
How to register at the Federal Institute for free technical courses?
Registrations for spots in free technical courses must be made in person at the Vitória Campus. The service takes place from 2 PM to 6:30 PM, within the period established in the notice.
Unlike many selection processes, there is no registration fee. This facilitates access and encourages participation from a larger number of candidates.
EJA selection process will be by public lottery
The selection model adopted by the Federal Institute is the public lottery, scheduled to take place on June 19, 2026. This format defines the ranking order of candidates in a transparent and democratic manner.
Moreover, the method eliminates the need for traditional tests, making the process more accessible. Thus, all registered individuals have equal chances of securing a spot.
Federal Institute and the impact of free technical courses on students’ lives
The offering of free technical courses in the EJA modality represents a real opportunity for social transformation. By combining high school and professional training, the Federal Institute directly contributes to entry into the job market.
Additionally, areas such as Metallurgy and Occupational Safety have high demand, which increases employment possibilities after course completion.
