The FGTS 2025 Calendar Is Defined, and the Anniversary Withdrawals Will Be Released According to the Month of Birth of the Worker; See How to Adhere, the Deadlines, and What Changes in Relation to the Dismissal Withdrawal.
The federal government has released the official calendar for the FGTS 2025 anniversary withdrawal, a modality that allows workers to withdraw part of the balance from their linked accounts in the month of their birthday. The model follows a staggered schedule, starting in January and ending in February 2026.
Unlike the dismissal withdrawal, the anniversary withdrawal does not authorize the full redemption of the FGTS in the event of dismissal without just cause, only the receipt of the termination fine. The measure is optional but has been gaining traction for offering greater financial flexibility throughout the year, especially during tight budget periods.

Winning money seems like a dream, but it can quickly turn into a nightmare when financial success awakens envy, demands, and opportunism from all sides; this was the case with Jack Whittaker, who won $315 million in 2002 and ended up alone, bankrupt, and devastated.
-
The former CEO of Petrobras got straight to the point: Brazil has a lot of oil but depends on imports for gasoline and diesel because Brazilian refineries were designed to process a type of oil that the country hardly produces anymore.
-
The Mar Sem Lixo program has already removed 133 tons of waste from the São Paulo coastline and pays more than R$ 1 million to fishermen.

With over 1 million bottles per year and 1.2 million vines, winter wines are advancing and gaining a strategic laboratory worth R$ 3.4 million in the Midwest.

- Born in January: 2/01 to 31/03
- February: 3/02 to 30/04
- March: 3/03 to 30/05
- April: 1/04 to 30/06
- May: 2/05 to 31/07

The amounts remain available until the end of the withdrawal period.
If the worker does not withdraw within the deadline, the money automatically returns to the FGTS account, with no loss of the balance.
How the Anniversary Withdrawal Works
The FGTS anniversary withdrawal is an alternative to the traditional withdrawal, created to allow the worker to access part of the balance annually, in the month of their birthday.
The amount released depends on the available balance range, varying from 5% to 50% of the total, plus a fixed portion according to the accumulated amount.
This option is advantageous for those seeking liquidity without needing to break the employment bond.
However, by choosing the anniversary withdrawal, the worker forfeits the total withdrawal in case of dismissal, retaining the right only to the 40% fine on the amount deposited by the employer.
How to Adhere to the Model and Check Values
Adhering to the anniversary withdrawal is optional and completely digital.
The process can be done through the FGTS app or website, available for Android and iOS. The worker needs to provide a bank account in their name to receive the amounts.
After the request, the money is released within five business days, provided the request is made during the month of the birthday.
It is also possible, within the app, to request return to the traditional model (dismissal withdrawal), as long as there is no active anticipation operation.
However, this reversal only takes effect 25 months after the request.
Anniversary Withdrawal and Credit Anticipation
In addition to the direct withdrawal, workers can opt for anticipation of the anniversary withdrawal, a credit modality in which banks and fintechs advance the amount of future FGTS installments.
This operation has functioned as a credit alternative with lower interest rates, since the fund balance serves as collateral for the operation.
However, experts warn about the importance of evaluating the total cost of anticipation before contracting the service.
Even being a cheaper line of credit, the discounts are automatic in the next withdrawals, reducing future access to funds.
Difference Between Anniversary Withdrawal and Dismissal Withdrawal
While the anniversary withdrawal allows annual and partial withdrawals of the balance, the dismissal withdrawal is the traditional model that authorizes the full redemption of the FGTS only in cases of dismissal without just cause.
The worker should carefully evaluate the best format according to their financial reality and job stability.
The anniversary modality offers flexibility and income predictability, but restricts access to the full balance in emergency situations.
Therefore, it is recommended for those who wish to plan the use of the FGTS as a complement to income, and not as an emergency reserve.
Do you intend to adhere to the FGTS 2025 in the anniversary withdrawal modality or do you prefer to maintain the traditional dismissal withdrawal? Does flexibility outweigh the restrictions in case of dismissal? Leave your opinion in the comments; we want to know how you see this choice in practice.
