The idea of a partnership arose after the American asset manager Apollo increased its offer by 25% for the purchase of Braskem's assets, in São Paulo, about 15 days ago. With that, Unipar decided to open the offer again
According to investigations by Jornal o Globo, Unipar decided to submit a new proposal to acquire the seven Braskem units located in São Paulo. This Sunday, the 23rd, according to information gathered, the company was obliged to resume its negotiations.
Negotiations were reopened due to the fact that 15 days ago, the American manager Apollo raised 25% of its offer for the purchase of Braskem's assets and with that, Unipar is looking for partners for the new offer.
It is not the first time that Unipar has tried to buy Braskem's assets in São Paulo. On October 14, the petrochemical company made public a relevant fact about the purchase of assets, but without having entered into any binding document.

Unipar's interest
According to the investigations made, Unipar would only be interested in the assets of Braskem in Sao Paulo, in an operation with a price equivalent to R$ 60 per petrochemical share.
According to Unipar, it is part of its routine to evaluate new business opportunities as they arise, constantly researching opportunities for investment, purchases and other strategic alternatives that are consistent and compatible with its objectives.
The company also pointed out that a potential operation involving Braskem SA is one of the evaluated opportunities, but no binding document was signed between the company and Braskem, says Unipar in an official document.
Low stocks hampered the sale of Braskem assets in São Paulo
Since July 2022, the procedures for the sale of Braskem have been dragging on. In the case of assets in São Paulo, the delay occurred due to falls in the company's shares, amid a drop of almost 40% in the shares in the accumulated of 2022.
According to information, the company's partners (Petrobras and Novonor (formerly Oderbrecht) have made few moves to carry out the sale of Braskem.
However, with all this movement surrounding the sale of the company, Braskem's shares valued a lot in the last 30 days, with an increase of 20,44%.
