New Global Billionaires Ranking Shows Who the Brazilians Are That Accumulate the Largest Fortunes on the Planet and Reveals Who Tops the National Wealth According to Forbes

The new global billionaires ranking released by Forbes has once again brought Brazil to the forefront of the international economic scene. The traditional list, published this Tuesday (10), shows that 70 Brazilians appear among the richest people in the world, highlighting the impact of national entrepreneurs in strategic sectors of the global economy.

The information was disclosed by “Forbes”, which compiles the global billionaires ranking annually. According to the publication, the list gathers entrepreneurs and investors who accumulate billionaire fortunes across various fields, such as technology, finance, industry, and communication.

Among all the Brazilians on the ranking, one name stands out at the top of national wealth: Eduardo Saverin, co-founder of Facebook. The entrepreneur has an estimated fortune of US$ 35.9 billion, a value that corresponds to approximately R$ 185 billion.

In addition to being one of the creators of one of the largest social networks on the planet, Saverin is also a co-founder and co-chairman of B. Capital, a venture capital firm focused on investments in innovation and technology.

In the global Forbes ranking, the entrepreneur holds the 59th position among the billionaires in the world. This is also the third consecutive year that he appears as the richest Brazilian on the list.

Who Are the Brazilians at the Top of the Forbes Ranking

Right behind Eduardo Saverin is another name of great influence in the Brazilian financial market. The second place among the richest Brazilians in the world belongs to André Esteves, chairman and CEO of BTG Pactual.

According to Forbes, the banker has an estimated fortune of US$ 20.2 billion, equivalent to about R$ 104.1 billion. In the global billionaire ranking, Esteves currently occupies the 131st position.

In third place among Brazilians is entrepreneur Jorge Paulo Lemann, known for his involvement in major global companies. Owner of Ambev and partner in several other companies, Lemann has built one of the largest fortunes in the country.

Even after facing losses related to the judicial recovery of Americanas, a company of which he is one of the main partners, the entrepreneur remains among the richest in Brazil.

According to Forbes, Lemann’s fortune is estimated at US$ 19.8 billion, equivalent to about R$ 102 billion. Thus, he holds the 137th position in the global billionaire ranking.

The fourth place among the richest Brazilians shows a more significant difference compared to the top positions.

The spot is occupied by Fernando Roberto Moreira Salles, one of the main shareholders of Itaú Unibanco. His fortune is estimated at US$ 9.9 billion, approximately R$ 51 billion, which places him at the 346th position on the global list.

In recent years, Fernando has increased his stake in the bank by acquiring part of the shares owned by his brothers. This maneuver has directly contributed to the growth of his fortune.

In addition to his activities in the financial sector, the Moreira Salles family also controls the Brazilian Company of Metallurgy and Mining (CBMM), considered a world leader in the production of niobium.

The presence of the Moreira Salles family in the Forbes ranking is not limited to just one member. The fifth position among the Brazilians, which corresponds to the 383rd position in the global ranking, belongs to Pedro Moreira Salles, also a banker and shareholder of Itaú.

His fortune is estimated at US$ 9.1 billion, about R$ 46.9 billion.

In addition to him, other family members also appear on the list. Among them are João Moreira Salles and Walther Moreira Salles Jr., reinforcing the group’s presence among the largest fortunes in the country.

The Forbes ranking also includes well-known entrepreneurs from different sectors of the Brazilian economy.

Among the highlighted names are Wesley Batista and Joesley Batista, controllers of JBS, one of the largest animal protein companies in the world.

The list also features the brothers José Roberto Marinho, João Roberto Marinho, and Roberto Irineu Marinho, responsible for the Globo Group, as well as entrepreneurs such as Carlos Alberto Sicupira and Marcel Telles, partners of Jorge Paulo Lemann at 3G Capital.

Other well-known names in the Brazilian public also appear in the global billionaires ranking, such as Luciano Hang, founder of Havan, and bishop Edir Macedo, a religious leader and owner of TV Record.

Who Is the Richest Woman in Brazil According to Forbes

Among the Brazilians on the Forbes list, great feminine fortunes are also highlighted.

According to the publication, the richest woman in Brazil currently is Ana Lúcia de Mattos Barretto Villela, a member of the controlling family of Itaú Unibanco.

She has an estimated fortune of US$ 2.5 billion, solidifying her position among the country’s leading billionaires.

The complete list published by Forbes includes 70 Brazilians among the richest people in the world, with fortunes ranging from US$ 35.9 billion to around US$ 1.1 billion.
