Hyundai – An urgent call to owners to resolve possible risks associated with the automatic transmission electric oil pump control module.

Sao Paulo - Hyundai Motor Brasil Montadora de Automóveis Ltda. (“HMB”) is calling on owners of the Creta, HB20 and HB20S models for a technical check and possible replacement of a critical component. The call is aimed at vehicles manufactured between January 18 and September 19, 2023 for the Creta, and between December 20, 2022 and September 27, 2023 for the HB20 and HB20S.

Technical reasons behind the recall

According to a information provided by Hyundai, the reason for the summons is a non-conformity in the automatic transmission electric oil pump control. This irregularity has the potential to generate a short circuit, putting the occupants and the vehicle at risk.

Risks and implications

A short circuit in the electric oil pump control module can, in extreme cases, result in a risk of fire. This can lead to material damage and even serious or fatal physical injuries to the driver, passengers and third parties.

The solution proposed by Hyundai

Owners of affected vehicles must visit a Hyundai Motor Brazil Dealership for a free inspection. If necessary, the automatic transmission electric oil pump control module will be replaced, also free of charge. The service will last approximately two hours.

How to proceed

To schedule the inspection, the customer can contact the Hyundai Customer Service Center at 0800-770-3355, from Monday to Friday, from 8am to 20pm, and on Saturdays, from 9am to 15pm. Alternatively, scheduling can be done via the Hyundai website.

The importance of emergency care

A Hyundai emphasizes the urgency of responding to this call to ensure the safety and satisfaction of its customers. The inspection and, if necessary, replacement of the component will be carried out at the Hyundai dealership network, at no cost to the consumer.
