Funai (National Indian Foundation) is a Brazilian public agency responsible for formulating and executing the federal government’s indigenous policy. Funai President Speaks About the Contest and the Availability of Job Vacancies
The Funai contest is one of the proposals of the institution’s president, Deputy Joenia Wapichana (Sustainability Network). According to her, the government is already aware of the issues faced by indigenous peoples in Brazil and aims to resolve them as soon as possible. Additionally, upon taking her position at Funai, she promised to resume the progress of the contest and restructure the staff, offering new job vacancies.
According to the deputy, Funai employees have undergone a process of disorientation, which has resulted in an even greater loss of rights for indigenous peoples.
