The North Sea is the backdrop for the East Kameleon project, a field development by Aker BP for which Global Energy Group (GEG) has secured a contract with Subsea7 to manufacture subsea spools and structure energy transition.
The North Sea region, located in the northeastern part of the Atlantic Ocean, is where the work will be carried out at the Port of Nigg, a multi-user energy facility in Cromarty Firth, with some of the largest construction and assembly workshops in the United Kingdom, as well as areas of settlement adjacent to deep waters.

East Kameleon is part of the Alvheim field (PL203), along with Kneler, Boa, and Kameleon, as well as the Viper-Kobra structures and the Gekko discoveries. License PL203 also hosts other ventures in the area. The license holders for PL203 are Aker BP (operator), ConocoPhillips Scandinavia AS, and Lundin Energy Norway AS.
