Here’s Your Chance: The Government of São Paulo, in Partnership with Huawei and ABGD, Will Offer 260 Vacancies for Free Courses in the Solar Energy Sector. Classes Will Be Held in a Mobile Unit That Will Travel Through 13 Cities in the Vale do Ribeira

Through the Department of Infrastructure and Environment (SIMA), the Government of São Paulo has included 13 cities in the Vale do Ribeira in the Huawei Solar Road Show route, which is a project by ABGD to promote the renewable energy market in Brazil, such as photovoltaic solar energy. If you are looking for learning opportunities in this sector, this is your chance, as the goal of the partnership between the government of São Paulo with Huawei and ABGD is to qualify 260 people through free courses on solar energy system installation.

The free courses offered by the Government of São Paulo will begin in May and will be part of the program coordinated by the Department of Regional Development (SDR), called Vale do Futuro.

Understand How the Free Course Classes Will Be Taught in São Paulo

The free classes on solar energy will take place in a customized and adapted classroom that has been set up inside a mobile training unit. The space provided by Huawei includes a real on-grid and off-grid solar energy micro-generation system that will be used for demonstration activities.

The free courses will have an average duration of 8 hours of activities, which include basic concepts of distributed generation (GD) regulation of electric energy, installation quality, and preliminary project sizing and sales for solar energy. The project is sponsored by Risen Solar Technology, Huawei technology, and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. It is worth noting that the Government of São Paulo’s course will implement all security and distancing measures established.

Expanding Solar Energy Market

According to Marcos Penido, State Secretary of Infrastructure and Environment, initiatives like this from the Government of São Paulo are essential, considering that, in addition to developing the local economy, they promote the use of solar energy.

The mobile unit will leave São Paulo and arrive on May 2 in Iguape, the first city in the Vale, starting the course the next day. Besides the Vale, the unit will pass through the São Paulo coastline and other regions of São Paulo.

According to Marco Vinholi, Secretary of Regional Development, this is yet another innovative initiative in the Ribeira region that, in addition to empowering citizens, encourages a more sustainable and cleaner future.

Vale do Futuro

With the aim of transforming one of the regions of São Paulo (which has rich biodiversity) into a model of regional development based on sustainable exploration, the Government of São Paulo has been proposing partnerships with municipalities, civil society organizations, and local communities to implement sustainable development projects, conservation, and improving the quality of life for the Ribeira population and income generation.
