Classes on the free solar energy courses will be held in a customized and adapted classroom that has been set up inside a mobile training unit. The space made available by Huawei has a real on-grid and off-grid solar energy microgeneration system, which will be used for demonstration activities.

The free courses will have an average duration of 8 hours of activity, which include basic notions of regulation of distributed generation (GD) of electric energy, quality of installations and sale and preliminary sizing of solar energy projects. The project is sponsored by Risen Solar Technology, Huawei technology and the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation. It is worth mentioning that the course of the Government of São Paulo will adopt all established security and distancing measures.

Booming solar energy market

According to Marcos Penido, State Secretary for Infrastructure and Environment, initiatives like this one by the Government of São Paulo are essential, considering that, in addition to developing the local economy, it encourages the use of solar energy.

The mobile unit will leave São Paulo and will arrive, on May 2, at Iguape, the first city in the Valley, starting the course the following day. In addition to the Valley, the unit will pass along the coast of São Paulo and other regions of São Paulo.

According to Marco Vinholi, Regional Development Secretary, this is yet another innovation initiative in the Ribeira region that, in addition to empowering citizens, encourages a more sustainable and cleaner future.

Future Valley

With the aim of transforming one of the regions of São Paulo (which has a rich biodiversity) into a regional development model based on sustainable exploration, the Government of São Paulo has been proposing partnerships with city halls, civil society organizations and local communities to implement sustainable development projects, conservation and improvement of the quality of life of the population of Ribeira and income generation.
