Approval of Bidding Unlocks Construction of Federal Campus in Downtown Tijucas, with Resources from the New PAC, Contract Discount, and Full Structure Planned for Technical and Technological Education, Including Additional Investments in Equipment and Furniture for the Start of Activities.

The Federal Government has approved the bidding that defines the company responsible for constructing the future Tijucas Campus of the Federal Institute of Santa Catarina (IFSC).

The contract was signed for R$ 14,661,977.46, an amount that was below the initially estimated price for the work, and marks the advancement of the project that integrates the expansion of the federal network of professional and technological education.

The winner of Electronic Public Competition No. 91002/2025 was MF Empreendimentos Ltda.

According to the process, the reference budget indicated R$ 15,797,842.33, but the approved proposal presented a 7.19% discount, reducing the final cost of the contract.

IFSC Project in Tijucas Linked to the New PAC

With the bidding phase concluded, IFSC now has a clear path to begin the implementation of the new campus in Tijucas.

The project is associated with the New PAC, a federal program that finances initiatives to expand public infrastructure, including the creation and consolidation of technical education units.

The investment announced for actions related to the campus reaches R$ 28 million, an amount that considers not only the physical construction but also the necessary structure for academic operation.

This package includes expenditures on furniture, equipment, and pedagogical support items, as well as other expenses related to the implementation.

At the same time, part of the resources allocated for starting activities is expected to come from parliamentary amendments.

The amount mentioned in the project is about R$ 10 million for the purchase of equipment intended for classrooms, laboratories, and other environments, with a transfer indicated to the federal deputy Pedro Uczai (PT).

80,000 m² Land and Central Location

The construction is planned for land with an area of over 80,000 square meters, located in downtown Tijucas on Avenida Hercílio Luz.

The choice of the address aims to facilitate community access, with implementation in an urbanized area close to services and thoroughfares.

According to the description of the project, the space is expected to accommodate not only the academic-use blocks but also support areas and internal circulation.

The campus design was presented as a set capable of addressing different operational fronts, from administrative management to teaching and social activities.

Structure Planned for the New Campus

The project plans for the construction of a administrative block and blocks for classrooms, as well as areas dedicated to meals and sports practice.

Complementary structures are also listed, such as cafeteria, sports court, gatehouse, water tower, power substation, and internal and external circulation spaces.

The implementation proposal aims to gather, in one complex, infrastructure for daily operations, security, energy supply, and water support.

The idea is that these elements will allow the regular operation of the campus and support academic and service activities.

Even with the construction contract defined, the formal schedule follows what is indicated in the bidding process.

The document mentions an expected 36 months of execution, a timeframe that covers the phases of site setup, construction, and delivery of the planned structures.

Parliamentary Amendments and Preparation for Operation

The expectation of additional resources through parliamentary amendments is identified as a strategy to accelerate the preparation of the campus to welcome students.

The purchase of equipment and furniture is viewed as a decisive part to ensure that laboratories and classrooms can be operational as soon as the structures are delivered.

Among the expected items are equipment for didactic and technical use, as well as materials necessary for activities in specialized environments.

Depending on IFSC’s academic planning for Tijucas, these spaces may include laboratories and practice areas, requiring specific purchases for each type of course.

On the other hand, the text available so far does not detail which courses will be offered at the unit, nor the volume of vacancies, classes, and hiring of technical and teaching staff.

These details are likely to be defined in later stages of the implementation process and generally depend on institutional planning and budget release compatible with the start of activities.

With the approved bidding, the expectation now turns to the execution calendar and the organization of the future campus’s operations.

How can the arrival of a new federal technical education unit reshape the demand for professional training and the dynamics of opportunities in Tijucas and neighboring cities?
