The Government of the State of Mato Grosso Invested More Than R$ 70 Million in Resources for the Fire Department
Over the last four years, the state government invested more than R$ 70 million in new units, equipment, uniforms, and vehicles for the Mato Grosso Military Fire Department (CBMMT). The investments made during this administration ensure efficiency and speed in responding to incidents, in addition to strengthening efforts in combating forest and urban fires.
Vehicles and Equipment Acquired for the Fire Department
According to information released by the Government of Mato Grosso, about R$ 25.8 million were invested in more than 200 vehicles, tankers, and boats purchased or leased for responding to incidents throughout the state. In addition, over a thousand pieces of equipment were purchased, such as nozzles, transceivers (radio communication), extrication tools, and facial breathing protections that ensure the safety of personnel and improve effectiveness in responding to incidents.
Moreover, a sum exceeding 33,000 rounds of ammunition and more than 4,200 uniforms that were acquired are being delivered to personnel. The amount spent in the military sector reaches R$ 6.6 million. According to the chief commander, “thanks to the Government of Mato Grosso, the Fire Department now has high-technology equipment. For instance, we currently have diving masks that allow communication between firefighters. We have equipment that are world-class references and of great value for our operations.”

New Units and Renovations Made by the Government of Mato Grosso do Sul
During its administration, the Government of Mato Grosso invested in the construction of the 1st and 2nd Independent Platoons of the Military Fire Department in Poconé and Santo Antônio do Leverger through partnerships. Furthermore, the 8th Independent Company of the Fire Department in Pontes e Lacerda was inaugurated, which acquired its own headquarters in 2021, after 19 years operating in a building provided by the National Department of Transportation Infrastructure (DNIT).
Meanwhile, in Sinop, the 3rd Regional Command underwent a restructuring and became the first fire station in the state with a modular container structure. The sustainable structure of the station resulted in savings for public funds, not to mention the speed of construction, which took only seven months.
