The contract between Açotubo and STI Norland provides for the supply of parts for a photovoltaic equipment called a tracker (welded assembly), consisting of the metallic or structural part of the device. The CEO of STI Norland, Javier Reclusa Etayo, visited the Açotubo headquarters in Guarulhos, where he got to know the Açotubo Group’s facilities, to finalize the contract.
Words From The CEO Of STI Norland
According to the CEO, it was a great pleasure to closely know the Açotubo facilities, as he stated that quality of services and products is highly valued at STI Norland, including its suppliers in the solar energy area. He also affirms that the partnership with Açotubo came at an excellent time, due to the high demand for solar photovoltaic power plant projects.

According to the company, the business unit responsible for manufacturing the parts is the Integrated Solutions unit, which has increased its factory capacity with the acquisition of bending equipment, welding machines, and a laser cutting machine. Additionally, the company has moved its manufacturing plant to an area of 5,000 m2.
According to the commercial manager of the Açotubo Group’s Integrated Solutions business unit, two points were fundamental for STI Norland to establish an agreement with Açotubo. The first was finding a large and reliable partner, and the second was ensuring strong financial muscle to sustain the service, especially during quarantine times.
The Solar Photovoltaic Energy In Brazil
The solar photovoltaic source, in both distributed and centralized generation modalities, totaled 270 megawatts of installed capacity in Brazil at the beginning of 2021, according to data from ABSOLAR. The survey also indicates that photovoltaic generation reached the mark of 8,010 MW.
The state of Minas Gerais remains the largest center for the solar photovoltaic source, leading the state ranking in distributed generation. With 64.8 MW, the city of Brasília is also a significant source when it comes to distributed generation.
STI NORLAND
STI Norland is a Spanish company founded in 1996, specializing in the manufacturing of photovoltaic trackers, which are machines that track the sun for greater solar energy generation through photovoltaic modules.
STI is among the four largest in the world in the manufacturing of trackers, having branches in 10 countries across 5 continents, with projects totaling over 3 GWp of capacity, equivalent to the area of over 9,000 football fields. STI Norland established its presence in Brazil in 2015, in the city of Palmas (TO), at the start of the photovoltaic sector in the country. view less
