According to the CEO of STI Norland Brazil, solar energy will be the main source of electricity in the future, considering the growth of this sector and the global energy matrix
Javier Reclusa, the then president of STI Norland Brazil, spoke in a live stream on Thursday (08) about the future solar energy market and the direction of Brazilian electricity. The Spanish group, led by the director, operates in the manufacturing and supply of trackers, devices used in solar energy generation plants and panels to change the position of the panels throughout the day.

Bottlenecks of Brazilian Solar Energy
The director of STI Norland Brazil spoke about the bottlenecks and opportunities, such as working throughout the entire supply chain of the segment. He states that Brazil has an electricity matrix predominantly composed of hydroelectric plants which, although renewable, cause environmental damage and do not fully meet electricity demand, making it necessary to occasionally resort to thermoelectric plants, which have notably harmful effects on the environment.
The president of STI Norland Brazil believes that the renewable energy market, both in Brazil and worldwide, has grown significantly over the last decade and that this growth among low-carbon electricity sources is not something that can be easily abandoned, but rather the ideal solution for a sustainable future. According to him, we are a privileged sector. Solar energy will be the main source of electricity in the world in the future.

Advancement in renewable energy: A R$ 150 million project launched by Petrobras and Finep aims to create state-of-the-art electrolyzers for green hydrogen, strengthening national research and preparing Brazil to compete in a billion-dollar energy market.

Illiterate or semi-literate grandmothers were trained to repair solar systems, open rural workshops, and light up homes that still depended on kerosene.

The world has bet on green hydrogen as the fuel of the future, but now faces the side effect: producing 1 kilogram requires about 9 liters of ultrapure water, and the largest projects on the planet are precisely in the driest regions of the Earth, where water is already scarce for people.
Growth of Solar Energy
The solar energy industry set records in 2020. The installation of solar energy panels grew by 70% last year, generating 7.5 GW. Houses and businesses are adopting the installation of solar energy panels to reduce electricity bills.
Although 2020 was a good year for solar energy, it is just the tip of the iceberg, considering it has been growing for 10 years. This is due to the fall in prices, which has dropped by nearly 90% as the government facilitated this market.
Who is STI Norland Brazil?
