Ambipar Certification Is The Only Company Accredited By INMETRO With A Certification Scope For Waste Management With Zero Landfill Practices And Circular Economy In Brazil

São Paulo, June 30, 2022 – The Ambipar Group – a leading Brazilian multinational in environmental management – is once again investing in expanding its business and launches, this Thursday (30/06), Ambipar Certification. Specializing in certification services, the new company will carry out evaluation activities in different types of schemes for products, services, and processes to verify compliance with legal norms and requirements.

Accredited as a Certification Body (OCP) by the National Institute of Metrology (INMETRO), Ambipar Certification will grant the Green Seal. This seal attests that the company has complied with legislation, including the requirements of the National Solid Waste Policy (PNRS), and may have practices for waste valuation and circular economy. Thus, the Green Seal adds more value to the business and helps organizations achieve regularity and excellence in their management. The certification qualifies regarding the “Zero Landfill” and “Circular Economy” practices of the audited companies, ratifying their excellence and commitment to the environment and sustainability.

According to Elaine Cristina Moreira, Technical Director of Ambipar Certification, the company emerges at a time when the market seeks excellence in processes and quality in products. “Institutions are increasingly seeking improvement in their processes. This path is extremely important when we think, for instance, about waste issues and the transformations that must occur more strongly over the coming years. In this sense, Ambipar Certification comes to collaborate with companies committed to environmental protection and compliance with environmental laws,” highlights the executive.

The Green Seal Certification

Able to certify waste management services with zero landfill and circular economy practices, pioneering in Brazil, Ambipar Certification will begin awarding the Green Seal to organizations engaged in environmental preservation and sustainability challenges.

Subjected to independent audits specifically for the certification of services or processes – as established by NBR 17.065 and NBR 17.067 – the Green Seal brings more reliability and security to the companies evaluated and qualified by Ambipar Certification.

By obtaining it, companies are recognized as standards in managing the waste generated in their chain, even being considered benchmarks for their entire segment.

Validated by the General Coordination of Accreditation of the National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology (INMETRO), the Green Seal is proof of excellence in waste management. According to Elaine Moreira, “the certificate is synonymous with compliance with environmental regulations and reliability in waste management processes. By acquiring it, companies demonstrate they are at the forefront of management and waste valuation,” concludes the manager.

For the renewal of the certification, in addition to annual periodic maintenance, companies will be re-evaluated every three years and will again be subjected to analysis processes to verify compliance with the required guidelines and requirements, as well as the PNRS. If approved, the company will receive the seal again.

Launch Event

To mark the launch of the Green Seal, Ambipar – through Ambipar Certification – will hold an event on June 30, at 9:00 AM, at the Arena da B3, at Rua XV de Novembro, 275 – Centro – São Paulo.

First Certified Company

A client for over 15 years, Titan Pneus will be the first company to receive the Green Seal. The certification process for Titan began in May 2022, with the audit being a pilot for the Green Seal that included confirmation from the INMETRO evaluator and specialist.

Even with the International ISO 14001 Certification, Titan recognizes the importance of an independent audit for its waste management. “We are very proud to be the first company to receive Ambipar’s Green Seal. In addition to complying with all legal standards for an industry located in São Paulo, we are a reference in actions related to the environment and social issues – we have our own treatment stations, various measurements, and we work hard to become a Zero Landfill company. We want to make a difference for the future of the coming generations,” celebrates Edson Tebaldi, general director of Titan Pneus.

Titan Pneus has been active in the North American market for over 100 years and sells in 85 countries. It produces high-quality, durable, and high-performance tires for vehicles such as trucks and conventional vans, as well as a wide agricultural, forestry, and off-road line.
