Tambasa Wholesaler, a company based in Contagem, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, is developing a project for the group’s expansion over the next 15 years. The initial estimate for the project is to invest around R$ 700 million in the construction of warehouses that will increase the storage capacity from the current 100,000 pallets to 400,000 pallets. Company Investment Projects in Minas Gerais
The company’s objective with investments in the state of Minas Gerais is to increase capacity for the company’s growth, product variety and quantity, and the served market. Tambasa is experiencing significant growth and is expected to end the year with a revenue of R$ 5 billion, compared to R$ 4.413 billion recorded in 2020.
The expansion project, which includes the construction of three warehouses, will be implemented in the company’s complex in Contagem, state of Minas Gerais, where two warehouses are already located. Tambasa received a proposal to invest in Bahia but still prefers to implement the project in the RMBH. The start of construction depends only on the approval of projects, which have been with the City Hall of Contagem for six months.

Construction of New Warehouses
According to the Director of Sales and IT at Tambasa Wholesaler, Alberto Portugal Milward de Azevedo, the construction of the warehouses will be carried out gradually over the next few years, and progress will depend on the scenario. Alberto states that they have a project for the construction of three warehouses in Minas Gerais. They have planned for the company’s future, which will be developed over the next 15 years, with the goal of quadrupling the Tambasa, which currently has a capacity of 100,000 pallets and intends to expand to 400,000.
Today the company has two warehouses. One with 60,000 square meters, focused on whole products, and the second, which is fully automated, focused on fractionated products. The capacity of both is 100,000 pallets. In the first phase of the wholesaler group’s construction, two warehouses will be built. The first warehouse, according to Portugal, will be completely innovative. The storage unit will have two floors with 45,000 square meters each and a total capacity of 100,000 pallets. Each floor will have a height of 15 meters.

The Investment Promotion Agency in Commerce in Minas Gerais recently announced that the state could generate more than 200,000 jobs with the investments to be made. According to the agency, the total investments exceed R$ 129 billion, with more than 225 companies from 16 distinct nationalities, distributed across nearly 30 different economic sectors, including: mining, industry, beverages, e-commerce, solar energy, and others.
