Acciona Energía Arrives in Brazil Alongside Casa dos Ventos with Wind Energy Projects Totaling 850 MW to the Brazilian Renewable Energy Market
Global renewable energy player, free from fossil fuels, Acciona Energía signed an agreement with the investor group – Casa dos Ventos – for the acquisition of two wind projects under development (Sento Sé I and II) in the state of Bahia, which together can reach up to 850 MW of power.

Acciona Energía has signed an agreement with Casa dos Ventos for the acquisition of two wind projects under development (Sento Sé I and II) in Bahia, which represents the entry of the Spanish company into the Brazilian renewable generation market. The parks, which together can reach up to 850 MW of power, are in the process of obtaining the necessary authorizations for their execution, expected for next year.
This transaction represents the first step for ACCIONA Energía’s entry into the Brazilian renewable generation market. The Spanish Company’s Wind Energy Parks Are Already in Approval Phase in Bahia
The operation is subject to compliance with certain conditions and approval from the relevant authorities. The Sento Sé I and II parks are in the process of obtaining the necessary authorizations for their execution, expected for next year.
With the authorizations, Acciona Energía will be able to approve the investment and start construction. The complete execution of both parks would mean an investment of about €800 million. This transaction represents the first step for the company’s entry into the Brazilian renewable generation market.

“The company is also analyzing other wind and photovoltaic projects to consolidate its presence in the country with the goal of being an active agent in the long-term energy transition and contributing to the decarbonization of the economy and business activities,” said Acciona Energía in a press release. With this transaction, the company seeks to expand its portfolio of projects under development and its geographic diversification to drive its growth plans.
“Acciona Energía has set a goal to double its size and reach 20 GW of installed capacity by 2025, based on a portfolio of 9.8 GW of advanced development projects, now adding the 850 MW from the Sento Sé I and II wind parks”, it concludes.
