GWM Confirms That the Tank 300 Will Have a Flex Hybrid Version in 2026, With 394 HP, 4×4 Traction, Automatic Transmission, and 2.0 Turbo Engine.

GWM has confirmed that the Tank 300, a newly launched SUV in Brazil, will have a flex hybrid version starting in the first half of 2026.

The announcement took place during the second edition of the Future Mobility Summit, held by Autoesporte and Valor Econômico in São Paulo (SP).

As reported by Autoesporte, this innovation places the model on the same level of innovation as Toyota, which until now was the only brand to offer flex hybrid vehicles in the country.

The Tank 300 flex will be based on a 2.0 turbo engine, unlike the Haval models that use the 1.5 turbo.

The setup will be integrated into a plug-in hybrid system, totaling 394 HP of power and 76.4 kgfm of torque.

The nine-speed automatic transmission and 4×4 traction on demand complete the technical specifications, reinforcing the robust off-road proposal of the utility vehicle.

While the Tank 300 will continue to be imported, the SUVs Haval H6 and H6 GT will receive the flex hybrid system for the 1.5 turbo engine, also in 2026.

In the case of the H6 HEV, the combined power will be 243 HP, delivered by the internal combustion engine paired with an electric motor powered by a 1.6 kWh battery.

The H6 PHEV will have a 19 kWh battery, resulting in 326 HP, while the coupe H6 GT will reach impressive 393 HP.

All these models use the two-speed automated transmission, with external charging possible in the PHEV versions.

Production in Iracemápolis

The Haval line SUVs will come from the Iracemápolis (SP) factory, officially inaugurated in August.

The unit operates under a full parts import system, where all components arrive separately and are assembled in Brazil.

This strategy differentiates the brand from other CKD and SKD models and will allow for a gradual nationalization of production.

According to GWM, the development of the flex hybrid technology is happening in partnership with Bosch, reinforcing the commitment to adapt vehicles to the Brazilian market, especially for ethanol use.

Sales Rising

In addition to plans for 2026, GWM highlighted recent commercial performance.

The Poer P30 pickup has already totaled around 800 units sold, while the Haval H9 SUV has reached 2,000 orders in less than three weeks.

The numbers indicate good acceptance of the brand in the country and should appear in official registration reports in the coming months.

GWM Will Invest R$ 10 Billion in Brazil by 2032

Great Wall Motors (GWM) has officially entered the Brazilian market with the inauguration of the factory in Iracemápolis (SP) in August, which is the company’s first unit in the Americas.

The project marks one of the largest recent investments in the automotive sector in the country and foresees R$ 10 billion by 2032.

In addition to producing hybrid and electric vehicles, the automaker aims to transform Brazil into an export platform for Latin America.

First GWM Factory in the Americas

The Iracemápolis plant was acquired from Mercedes-Benz in 2021 and began operations in August 2025.

Initially, the capacity will be 30,000 vehicles per year, with an expansion planned to 50,000 units annually.

Local Production and Expected Models

Production in Brazil started with the Haval H6 SUV, the H9 utility vehicle, and the Poer pickup.

The company’s focus is on plug-in hybrid vehicles, aligned with the company’s electrification goals.

By 2026, GWM estimates that 60% of the components used in the assembly line will be from domestic suppliers. More than 100 companies are already registered as partners in the supply chain.

Investment Amount and Timelines

The investment plan foresees R$ 4 billion by 2026, allocated for factory adaptation, workforce training, and technological modernization.

Between 2027 and 2032, the automaker will invest an additional R$ 6 billion in project expansion, research and development, as well as the introduction of new models.

The strategic goal is to consolidate Brazil as a regional production center and base for exports.

The expectation is to generate around 1,000 direct jobs by 2026, strengthening the national automotive sector.

In addition to the domestic market, the Iracemápolis factory will serve as a base for exports to neighboring countries in Latin America.

This strategy enhances the brand’s competitiveness on the continent and positions Brazil as a key player in GWM’s global plans.

In the coming years, the company is also considering expanding its presence in the country, with new production lines and potential expansion to other regions.
