The project is a partnership between 3M and Formare, a professional qualification program for low-income youth, belonging to the Iochpe Foundation.

It has been 10 years of partnership between the American company and Formare. During this period, through the partnership, 450 young people have been trained, of which 163 were hired by 3M itself, with in 2018, the company hired 84% of the students; and in the last two years, more than half of the students exited the course employed by it.

According to a survey conducted by IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics), in 2018, about 11 million young people between the ages of 15 and 29 are idle in Brazil. This number highlights the importance of carrying out projects like the one developed by Formare.

The Importance of Slots for Young People

Another survey conducted by IBGE in 2020 indicated that in the state of São Paulo, the number of unemployed people reached 3.5 million. In addition to helping to reduce this number, the courses will provide new opportunities for these young people. Regarding the state of Amazonas, the agency indicated that only 50.3% of the Amazon population has access to good reemployment in the job market.

Given this data, the available slots for high school students and those who have already completed this phase will contribute to better income generation opportunities.
