The Touring Model Costs R$ 24,500 More than the HR-V, but It Doesn’t Bring Many Differentials. Honda Has Finally Entered Its New SUV into the Ring of SUVs.

Named ZR-V, the vehicle comes in a single version, Touring, with a price of R$ 24,500 more than its older sibling, the HR-V. Honda’s estimate is good, planning to import 1,000 units per month. The big question is: Is it worth all this? And will it be able to beat the competition?

The ZR-V comes with a full LED anti-glare headlight, following segment standards. Daytime running lights and a yellow turn signal are also featured.

The front grille has a semi-circular shape, and the car also features black bumpers with a small spoiler. Front parking sensors also come standard.

One of the biggest complaints is regarding the 17-inch wheels with 215/60 tires. Some critics believe they are disproportionate to the size of the car.

On the other hand, the brake discs are ventilated in the front and solid in the back, a detail that counts in its favor. The rear space is indeed spacious, thanks to the 2.65 m wheelbase. However, the ZR-V falls short by not offering air vents for rear passengers, a feature even present in the HR-V.

With a capacity of 389 liters, the trunk of the ZR-V is not surprising, but it is larger than that of the HR-V. The electric opening, however, was a missed feature by Honda, raising questions about the vehicle’s value for money.

2.0 Naturally Aspirated Engine

The engine is 2.0 naturally aspirated, delivering 161 horsepower. It is not a standout in terms of performance, but it meets everyday needs.

The infotainment system of the ZR-V is quite similar to that of the HR-V. Physical controls are present to facilitate navigation, and Android Auto works only with a cable, while Apple CarPlay is wireless.

The ZR-V certainly has its merits. However, for the price of R$ 24,500 more than the HR-V, there are points that leave something to be desired, such as the lack of rear air vents and the trunk without electric opening. Only time will tell if the Brazilian market will embrace this Honda launch, which has an optimistic estimate, planning to import 1,000 units per month.
