The New Honda NX500 2026 Arrives in Brazil with Renewed Design, More Agile Engine at Low RPM, 5-Inch TFT Display, and Traction Control. The Model Replaces the CB500X and Expands the Adventure Proposal of the Brand in the Mid-Displacement Segment.

The Honda presented in Brazil the new NX500 2026, a model that replaces the well-known CB500X and arrives with visual changes, more technology, and mechanical adjustments that make it more efficient at low RPM.

The launch is part of the brand’s global strategy to align names and positioning of its models. The report with the first impressions was published this Saturday (16) by the website Motor1.

Name NX Reinforces Honda’s Tradition

The name NX is not new in the manufacturer’s catalog.

It references bikes like the old NX200 and the NX350 Sahara, adventure models of mixed use but with a strong appeal to asphalt.

This history helped justify the renaming of the CB500X, which now officially joins Honda’s lineup of more adventurous motorcycles.

According to Motor1, the change was not limited to the name.

The new NX500 2026 gained more modern lines, lighter wheels, new embedded electronic features, and engine and chassis adjustments that made the bike more practical for daily use and long-distance travels.

Design of the Honda NX500 2026

One of the highlights of the NX500 2026 is the renewed visual.

The LED headlight, new front fairing, and redesigned tail give it a slimmer and more robust appearance.

Honda also worked on aerodynamics, redesigning the front windscreen and part of the front to reduce wind impact on the rider.

The wheels have also been reworked and are lighter.

The front set of 19 inches reinforces its adventurous character, while the rear of 17 inches ensures stability and balance.

This combination provides better performance on paved roads and safety on uneven surfaces.

Suspension and Improved Comfort

In terms of chassis, the NX500 maintains the Diamond Frame base.

It features a longer suspension travel compared to the Hornet, its more sporty “sister.”

At the front, the telescopic fork has a 150 mm travel, while the rear, with a Pro-Link system, reaches 135 mm.

These measurements ensure more efficient impact absorption and increase comfort on long trips.

During the test conducted between Taubaté (SP) and Paraty (RJ)</strong), passing through cities such as Lagoinha, Cunha, and Ubatuba, the reporter from Motor1 highlighted that the upright posture and wide handlebars make riding less tiring, even on long routes.

With a 834 mm seat height, average-height riders, like the 1.72 m tall reporter mentioned in the analysis, can support their feet on the ground, even if partially.

This helps with safety during stops and low-speed maneuvers.

Engine of the Honda NX500 2026

The bicylinder engine of 471 cc remains the same in structure.

It delivers 49.6 hp at 8,500 rpm and 4.5 kgfm of torque at 7,000 rpm, always in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission and assist and slipper clutch.

The difference, according to Motor1, lies in the new programming of the electronic control unit.

The adjustment made the engine more agile at low RPM, especially starting from 2,000 rpm.

This gain is noticeable in acceleration, climbs, or tight turns, where there was previously a constant need to downshift.

This evolution makes the NX500 more practical for urban use and improves performance on winding roads, without sacrificing performance at mid and high RPM.

TFT Display and Electronics

The NX500 debuts a 5-inch TFT display, fully digital and customizable.

It offers automatic light and dark mode and can be controlled by a joystick on the left grip, eliminating the need for direct touches on the screen.

Despite the novelty, the Brazilian version still does not have Bluetooth connectivity, a feature already available in models sold in Europe.

Honda informed Motor1 that the system is in the process of approval by Anatel and may be incorporated in the future.

Additionally, the motorcycle now offers electronic traction control, an essential item to ensure more safety on slippery surfaces.

The front turn signals in LED now remain lit continuously, also acting as position lights.

At the rear, the taillights and brake lights have been separated into distinct parts, all also in LED.

Riding Experience

In the test conducted by Motor1, the NX500 proved to be a balanced motorcycle, with consistent handling and comfort maintained even over long stretches.

The reporter highlighted that the bike became more charismatic with the new design, in addition to being more efficient in quick acceleration.

Still, like any motorcycle equipped with a front windscreen, there is turbulence passing to the helmet, even with the redesigned aerodynamics.

On the other hand, the system reduces wind on the rider’s chest, making the trip less tiring.

Honda Assistance and Service Network

The NX500 2026 launches, along with the Hornet, the Honda Assistance, a 24-hour assistance program.

It covers not only Brazilian territory but also neighboring countries such as Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, and Bolivia.

The service includes towing and emergency support, reinforcing the proposal of a versatile bike for long distances.

Another highlighted point is Honda’s extensive network in Brazil, which has over 1,100 sales points, facilitating maintenance, revisions, and parts availability.

Price of the Honda NX500 2026

The Honda NX500 2026 arrives on the Brazilian market for R$ 45,800 (excluding freight).

This price positions it as a competitive option in the mid-displacement adventure segment, balancing price, reliability, and a more complete equipment list compared to its predecessor.
