The long-awaited trail bike, Honda Tornado promises to surprise with a more powerful engine, improved suspension and cutting-edge technology!

During the 2024 Interlagos Festival, Honda presented the new Honda XR 300L Tornado, revealing that All technical details will be released in July, on the official release date. However, it is now possible to identify some of the most significant changes compared to the previous model, the XR250 Tornado, according to the Autopapo website.

1. More powerful engine in the new Honda Tornado XR

One of the main changes in the new Honda Tornado XR 300L is the increase in displacement. The previous model, with its 249 cm³ engine, delivered 23,3 hp and 2,42 kgfm. Now, the Tornado now has a 293,5 cm³ engine, capable of generating up to 25,2 hp and 2,74 kgfm with ethanol. This update promises superior performance, especially in off-road terrain, maintaining the tradition of reliability and robustness.

2. Improved suspension

The new Honda Tornado also features significant suspension improvements. Compared to the old 250 and the XRE 300 Sahara, the XR 300L features longer forks, which should provide even greater suspension travel. The Tornado 250 had 220 mm at the front and 242 mm at the rear, while the 300 Sahara had 221 mm at the front and 225 mm at the rear. Although full technical data has not yet been released, the XR 300L is expected to surpass these measurements, offering a smoother and more efficient riding experience on trails.

3. Minimum ground clearance

Minimum ground clearance is a crucial factor for trail bikes, and the new Honda Tornado does not disappoint. Sharing components with the XRE 300 Sahara, the XR 300L must have at least 269 mm between the lowest part of the engine and the ground. The Tornado 250 varied between 269 mm and 281 mm, depending on seat adjustment. This feature ensures that the new Tornado continues to be an excellent option for off-road adventures.

4. Disc brakes on both wheels

An expected and welcome upgrade are disc brakes on both wheels. While the XR250 Tornado It only had disc brakes on the front wheel., the new XR 300L Tornado is equipped with discs on both wheels, probably the same as the XRE 300 Sahara, which has 256 mm at the front and 220 mm at the rear. This improvement increases safety and braking efficiency, especially in adverse conditions.

5. LED lighting

The modernization of the new Tornado includes the adoption of LED lighting. This technology not only improves visibility during night riding, but it is also more efficient and durable compared to traditional lamps. The inclusion of LEDs brings the Tornado in line with the latest trends in the motorcycle market.

Fuel tank capacity

Although it is still speculation, there are expectations that the new XR 300L Tornado will have a larger fuel tank than the XR250. The XRE 300 has a capacity of 13,8 liters, while the Tornado 250 had 11,5 liters. Considering the increase in displacement and the proposal to be lighter than the Sahara, it is likely that the new Tornado's tank will be enlarged to provide greater autonomy.
