Hyundai is ready to make a big impact in 2024, bringing to the Brazilian market a new SUV that promises to be the most affordable in its category. The automaker is developing a new generation of compact vehicles, and it seems that the classic HB20 will make way for a completely revamped entry-level SUV. With this innovation, Hyundai enters the fray for the compact SUV market, directly targeting rivals like the Renault Kardian. Expectations are high, and the brand promises to surprise with a modern, economical, and competitive model that is sure to attract consumers seeking style and value for money.
The Most Affordable SUV in Brazil Features a Design Similar to the Creta
In countries like India and even in Europe, there is a Hyundai SUV built on the same platform as the HB20, namely the Venue. The car, nicknamed the Hyundai HB20 2025, is perfect for Brazil and has everything to be a success.
In terms of dimensions, the most affordable SUV in Brazil measures 3.99 m in length, 2.50 m in wheelbase, 1.77 m in width, and 1.61 m in height. Its total weight is a light 1129 kg, and it accommodates 300 L of luggage in the trunk.

It surpassed the T-Cross, Creta, and Tracker: with nearly 8,000 units sold, the Volkswagen Tera was the best-selling SUV in March 2026.
-
Honda performs miracles in fuel consumption with a hatch that marks 13.2 km/l in the city and 15 km/l on the highway, leaving Polo, HB20, 208, and Onix behind and becoming a reference among compact cars without resorting to turbo or hybrid systems.

Six diseases that seem common but can prevent the renewal of the driver’s license for the elderly throughout Brazil and surprise experienced drivers — could any of them affect you without showing clear signs?

With 122 hp, fuel consumption of up to 17.7 km/l, and a trunk capacity of 440 liters, this hybrid SUV impresses even though it costs up to R$ 47,000 more than the Yaris — meet the Toyota Corolla Cross.
In terms of appearance, the “new HB20” is very attractive and resembles the Creta. In the front, we have a Black Piano grille and divided full LED headlights. The sides of the Hyundai SUV feature two-tone paint and wheels of up to 16 inches. Moving to the rear, we find a sporty bumper, a spoiler, and LED taillights that are interconnected and very beautiful.
In fact, this current facelift of the Creta in Brazil was inspired by the Hyundai HB20 2025, which arrived at the end of last year with this look in foreign countries.
New Hyundai HB20 2025 Delivers 120 Horsepower
In terms of powertrains, the new most affordable SUV in Brazil will have as one of its options the mild hybrid system already seen in the Kia Stonic here. However, in a tropicalized configuration and with Flex technology in the simpler setups, it will feature the 1.0 three-cylinder Turbo with direct fuel injection Flex. The engine of the new HB20 delivers 120 horsepower and 17.5 kgfm of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The performance and fuel consumption figures will be even better than those of the current Creta, after all, it is a much smaller and lighter car. The more expensive versions of the new Hyundai SUV may offer a setup promised by the brand, based on the same 1.0 three-cylinder gasoline Turbo associated with an additional power generator, and we will have Flex technology with this new setup.
The new Hyundai HB20 2025 will feature the famous coasting mode that shuts off the engine at cruising speeds, significantly saving fuel.
New Features of the Interior of the New HB20 2025
Inside, the most affordable SUV in Brazil will be a simplified variant of the Creta, bringing some good qualities from its bigger sibling. The interior space of the new HB20 will comfortably accommodate four adults and a child.
The equipment list includes interesting items such as a keyless entry, wireless phone charging, digital climate control, rear air vents, a multifunction steering wheel, a dashboard similar to that of the HB20, and entry-level versions of the current new Creta, which features a display that simulates a digital dashboard. However, the only truly digital part is the central panel, a 4-inch TFT display, which, when combined with the overall design, makes it appear almost like a 100% digital dashboard, but it is not.
In terms of safety, the new Hyundai SUV will be a complete model, yet with some moderation. It will come with items such as disc brakes with ABS, traction and stability controls, six airbags, three-point seatbelts, and headrests for all occupants, and this will apply to all versions.
The more advanced versions may also include collision alert, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and maneuver braking.
