The IFES has a new selection process with thousands of openings for free online courses. There are opportunities for Computer Operator, Basic English, Administrative Assistant, and much more.
The Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (IFES) recently announced the opening of registrations for free online qualification courses, which will be taught and developed through distance learning (EAD). In total, the institution offers 1,560 spots for the general public. Through the professional qualification modality, IFES provides short-term EAD courses that enhance the resume and expand opportunities in the job market.

The new classes will be selected for entry in 2023, according to the announcement published by the institute. Thanks to the flexibility offered by Distance Education, students can study from anywhere and organize their own schedules flexibly.
The initial and ongoing training courses (FIC) with open spots in the IFES selection process are as follows:

Become an expert in programming in a course that pays up to R$ 800 for it: Senai and Petrobras offer a free programming course that can pay a monthly scholarship.

The São Paulo government opens 1,700 spots in free courses in the capital and Greater São Paulo, with classes starting on April 27 and registrations available in person or online for areas with high demand in the job market.

Federal Institute will pay you R$ 300 for a free course: IFSP calls women for 320 in-person vacancies in 8 cities, with 60 hours of training and registrations open until April 21, 2026.

Senar opens more than 3,000 vacancies in free technical courses for 2026 with 9 programs in agriculture, hybrid education EAD + in-person, registrations until May 26 and simplified selection without exams throughout Brazil.
Computer Operator (160h)
In this training, students acquire knowledge about basic computer skills, software installation and configuration, operating system, word processor, spreadsheet, among other important topics. The course requires incomplete high school education and offers 240 spots.
Event Organizer (180h)
This course aims to train professionals to plan and organize public or private events. Interested candidates must have at least incomplete high school education to participate in the selection process and compete for one of the 120 available spots.
Basic English (60h)
This training aims to introduce the initial knowledge of the language, thereby developing a basic level of fluency. The minimum required education is fundamental II, meaning from the 6th to 9th grade, incomplete. There are 160 spots for this EAD course.
Administrative Assistant (175h)
With 200 spots open, this training aims to prepare professionals to perform administrative routine tasks, such as issuing invoices, organizing files, making registrations, preparing reports, among others, targeting those who have completed fundamental II education.
Pedagogical Practices in Fundamental II Education (120h)
Being a course aimed at teachers, this training focuses on another stage of education. There are 400 spots available.
Pedagogical Practices in Fundamental I Education (120h)
Another course aimed at teachers who seek to learn more about active learning methodologies, acquiring a broader pedagogical view of the classroom role. In total, there are 440 spots available for this training.
Learn How to Enroll in the Free Online and EAD Courses from IFES
The IFES states that registrations for the EAD qualification courses can be made from November 24 to December 14, through the official institute website. Those interested must access the page, fill out the form available within the deadline, and send the required documents. There is no charge for participation.
The selection process will occur through an electronic lottery held on December 16 at 3 PM. Participants will be able to follow the results on YouTube.
The list of classified candidates will be announced on December 20, with a period for resource requests. Finally, on February 3, 2023, the results will be published. Classes for the free online courses take place through the virtual learning environment.
