IFMT Is Offering 600 Vacancies in Free Courses for the Training of Electricians Focused on Solar Panel Installation Due to the High Demand in the State
The Federal Institute of Mato Grosso (IFMT) has 60 vacancies in free courses aimed at training electricians specialized in solar panel installation. The programs arise due to the high demand for these professionals in the state. Therefore, in many cases, those who complete the free courses already leave employed, according to the institution. The free course for electricians lasts 200 hours, which means there will be three months of in-person classes from Monday to Saturday. The student will not have to pay anything and will also receive a scholarship of R$ 400 during the course, ensuring a job upon completion.
IFMT Free Courses Arise After Expansion of the Solar Energy Market
The solar energy sector is in full expansion, and according to the labor union of energy production and distribution companies in Mato Grosso (Sindenergia), which represents about 130 companies in the state, it is difficult to find qualified labor for solar panel installation.
To help train new electricians, the union made an agreement with IFMT and donated R$ 180,000 in equipment for practical classes. According to businessman and director of Sindenergia, Carlos Rocha, the signing of the agreement has the sole purpose of training qualified professionals to meet the demand in the state.

IFMT Free Courses Will Be Distributed Across Three Campuses
The 600 vacancies in free courses to train electricians focused on solar panel installation at IFMT are distributed across three campuses: Pontes e Lacerda, Sinop, and Cuiabá, with 200 vacancies for each unit.
According to the general director of the Cuiabá campus, Professor Alceu Aparecido Cardoso, in these free courses, students will have basic knowledge of electricians who install solar panels, the principle of operation of the panels, and will be practically qualified to work with various types of tiles and roofs.
Alceu asserts that, in fact, students leave IFMT employed, which is why there is interest from Sindenergia in this labor. It is a rapidly expanding market, so the entities operate in different regions. It is worth noting that registrations are for individuals over 18 years old who have completed elementary education. The notice with the vacancies will be published in April, and more information can be found on the IFMT website.
Learn More About the Work of Solar Panel Installer Electricians
After completing the courses, students will be qualified to perform the activities of their role, which include: assembling and securing support structures, wiring ducts, solar panels, inverter support, among others. In this part of the job, the installer must have some knowledge of leveling and securing the modules on the roof.
The installer is also responsible for making the electrical connection of the modules, interactive inverter, string box, and others, up to the connection with the house’s energy panel. After these steps, the installer must also program the interactive inverter and test the system’s commissioning.
The monthly income of a solar panel installer may depend on their course, experience, and referrals. To define their salary, the installer needs to make an important decision right after the certification of the course. They will have two paths: the first is to offer their work to installation companies and be paid according to the services provided, and the other is to start their own business and operate as a company with their own team. However, to get straight to the point, according to Portal Solar, an installer earns an average of R$ 2,500 to R$ 5,000 per installation.
