IFPE Announces Selection with 4,5 Thousand Free Vacancies Across the State

The Federal Institute of Pernambuco (IFPE) opened on Monday the Admission Process 2026.1, offering 4,5 thousand free vacancies in technical and undergraduate courses. Registrations will continue until October 27, exclusively online.

The process is one of the main gateways for those seeking quality technical or higher education for free in Pernambuco.

The opportunities are distributed among 48 courses, spread across 16 campuses of IFPE, including Recife, Caruaru, Garanhuns, Paulista, Ipojuca, Vitória de Santo Antão, and other municipalities in the state.

Registrations Open: See Who Can Participate

Registrations are available until October 27, on the official IFPE website. The process is 100% online and accessible to candidates from all over the state.

The participation fees are:

R$ 10 for integrated technical courses at agricultural and technical campuses;
R$ 30 for other integrated courses with high school;
R$ 55 for undergraduate courses.

Candidates registered in CadÚnico, participants of Proeja, PROIFPE Acesso, PartiuIF, and Mulheres Mil programs, as well as rural communities, indigenous peoples, quilombolas, and individuals aged 50 or older can request a fee waiver.

This measure expands access to public education, ensuring that more people from Pernambuco have real opportunities for free technical and university education.

How the IFPE Selection Will Work

The selection model changes according to the chosen modality.

For subsequent technical courses and integrated high school courses at agricultural campuses, the classification will be made by analyzing the school records.

For undergraduate courses and integrated high school courses at other campuses, there will be an in-person exam on December 7. The exam locations will be announced on November 26.

The exams for integrated technical courses will consist of 30 multiple-choice questions covering Portuguese, mathematics, and general knowledge.

Candidates for undergraduate programs will face 50 objective questions, distributed among Portuguese, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, history, geography, and foreign language, in addition to an essay.

Quotas and Expanded Opportunities

IFPE reaffirms its commitment to educational inclusion and the democratization of public education. Therefore, 60% of the vacancies are reserved for students from public schools, ensuring that access to free education occurs fairly, broadly, and equally.

In addition, the institute reserves 25% of the vacancies in open competition for public school students from rural areas, provided they opt for courses with agricultural focus.

This initiative values rural communities and encourages the retention of these students in strategic areas for regional development.

With this quota policy, IFPE promotes social and educational equity, allowing students from different backgrounds to enroll in an institution recognized nationally for its excellence in education.
