Itaú Announces End Of Vital Service: Next week, Itaú will end a vital service that has marked its history for over three decades, signaling a significant transformation in the banking sector. The measure, motivated by the modernization and digitalization of processes, reflects a global trend of adapting to new technologies. With the advancement of digital solutions, such as PIX and banking apps, the bank has been focusing on optimizing operations and reducing dependence on traditional services and physical branches. This change, while aligned with current market demands, may have a direct impact on clients used to more conventional forms of service and support, marking the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between the bank and its users. Check the details of the end of Itaú’s popular service in 2025.

Itaú Announces End Of Vital Service And Addresses Decision

The expansion of digital services is increasingly at the center of banks’ initiatives, and the focus is on growth while always respecting the clients who have made the bank what it is today. On January 9 of this year, the end of Itaú’s popular service will take place.

This concerns the activities of the Itaú Bank branch 1004, located on Avenida 20 de Agosto, in downtown Catalão. The Catalão Banking Union expressed concern over the end of Itaú’s service, as both clients and employees will be directly affected.

Regarding employees, Itaú promised that they will be relocated. However, the 5,000 clients of the unit will need to use branch 4355 or migrate to digital service. Itaú announces the end of vital service and states that its decision is backed by its strategy to increase the use of digital channels. The bank highlighted that clients prefer digital tools.

Thus, for the institution, it makes sense to end Itaú’s service and strengthen its digital support to meet the new demand. This is something that banks across the country are currently doing.

How Many Branches Does The Company Have In Brazil?

Despite the end of Itaú’s popular service, the bank emphasized that the operations of branch 1004 will be transferred to branch 4355, located at Praça Getúlio Vargas, in downtown Catalão. After 35 years, a branch of Itaú will be closed. Thus, the services provided at the units will come to an end. The closure affects clients and employees; however, the bank already has a solution for both.

Present in 21 countries, it’s important to mention that the bank has around 5,000 branches in Brazil. However, it is closing some, so it’s likely that this number will decrease in the future.

Itaú announces the end of vital service, but this is not the first time the bank has taken this initiative. One example is the Espaço Itaú de Cinema, which unfortunately had its end declared. Thus, the Paraná group Cinesystem takes over the management of the film exhibition complex, sold by the Itaú Cultural Institute.

Future Of Brazil With The End Of Itaú’s Service

With the end of Itaú’s popular service, the trend is that banks will continue to invest in the expansion and improvement of their digital services. Technology is becoming increasingly sophisticated, allowing for the creation of innovative solutions that facilitate the lives of clients.

In the case of Itaú, the expectation is that the bank will continue to improve its app and internet banking, offering new features and an increasingly better user experience.

Digital security is a priority for banks, especially with the increase in online transactions. Itaú is investing in advanced security technologies, such as biometric authentication and encryption, to ensure that client transactions are conducted securely.
