New JAC Y3 electric car will soon arrive on the automotive market with 405 km of autonomy. The model promises a 'fight' with BYD Dolphin and GWM Ora 03.

JAC is preparing the launch of its newest compact electric car in Brazil. This is the JAC Y3, or Yiwei 3, which is set to premiere later this year. Now, the brand, which plans to compete with the BYD Dolphin and GWM Ora 03, has already begun the export process to the Brazilian market. According to the Chinese company, the first batch will not come to Brazil, but the first units should soon arrive in South America.

New JAC Y3 delivers autonomy of up to 405 km

The JAC Y3 is one of the brand's main bets for this year, as the model will compete with giants such as BYD Dolphin and Ora 03. Developed in partnership with Volkswagen, owner of 75% of JAC in China, the electric car is made on the D1 platform, more sophisticated than that of the E-JS1, for example. Already spotted in tests running here, it is not yet known which version of the stroller will be imported to Brazil, because there are two powertrain options.

Inside the JAC Y3, the design is very clean, with light colors in the finish and a minimalist footprint. The digital instrument panel is 6,2 inches, while the multimedia center can have a 12,8-inch or 15,6-inch screen depending on the version.

Find out how much the JAC Y3 will cost in the Brazilian market

With a focus on competing with BYD Dolphin and GWM Ora 03, it is very likely that JAC's electric car will arrive in the starting price around R$150 thousand.

However, the brand has not yet confirmed prices, as well as a specific debut date. In any case, the Chinese JAC does not have any model in this price range available in Brazil. In this way, it will be an important addition to the portfolio.

It is also worth mentioning that, recently, the brand launched the T9, its medium pickup truck that came to fight with the segment leaders, such as the Fiat Toro and Toyota Hilux. With a starting price of approximately R$200, the model delivers modern design, good performance and onboard technology.
