Correio Event in January White Brings Together Experts to Discuss Mental Health, Emotional Well-Being, and Public Policies in Brazil.

The mental health will be the focus of a broad public debate promoted by Correio Braziliense this Thursday (1/29) at 9 AM in the newspaper’s auditorium in Brasília.

The event is part of the January White campaign and brings together authorities, researchers, and professionals in the field to discuss emotional well-being, challenges in assistance, and the role of public policies in the psychological care of the population.

The event, titled “January White: Dialogues on Mental Health in Brazil,” will be streamed live on social media and the newspaper’s official YouTube channel.

Additionally, the audience will be able to interact with questions both in person and online.

Registration is free and open via the Sympla platform.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about mental health at a time when the topic occupies a strategic position in social discourse.

Therefore, the meeting proposes a critical reflection on prevention, welcome, and collective responsibility.

January White and the Importance of Emotional Well-Being

Created to stimulate open conversations about emotions, January White reinforces the idea that caring for the mind is as essential as taking care of physical health.

In this context, the Correio event emerges as a qualified space for listening, dialogue, and exchange of experiences.

Right at the opening, the program will include remarks by the president of Correio Braziliense, Guilherme Machado, moderated by journalists Carmen Souza and Sibele Negromonte.

The leadership reinforces journalism’s commitment to promoting emotional well-being and public interest information.

Public Policies and the Impact of Mental Health in Public Services

Then, still at the opening, the debate moves into the institutional field.

Participating are the commander of the Military Police of the Federal District, Ana Paula Habka, and the Undersecretary of Mental Health of the DF, Fernanda Falcomer.

Thus, the guests talk about mental health from the perspective of public policies, highlighting the direct impacts of emotional illness on public service and society.

The dialogue connects management, security, health, and citizenship, expanding the reach of January White.

Mental Illness and Challenges in Assistance

The first panel starts at 9:45 AM and discusses the factors of mental illness and the challenges in assistance.

The debate will bring together psychologist and psychoanalyst Ana Luísa Coelho Moreira, a doctor and post-doctorate in Clinical Psychology; researcher Leandro Freitas Oliveira, a doctor in Neurosciences from the Federal University of São Paulo; and psychiatrist Lucas Benevides, a professor at UniCEUB and a member of the Verse Network.

Thus, after individual presentations, the panel transforms into an open space for dialogue among the specialists.

Building Spaces for Listening and Care

Next, at 10:40 AM, the second panel addresses the theme “Building Spaces for Listening and Care.”

The focus is on welcoming practices, prevention, and promotion of emotional well-being in different social contexts.

The conversation will include psychologist and Mindfulness instructor Carla Fragomeni; psychiatrist and professor at the University of BrasíliaHelena Moura; psychopedagogue Marcos Medeiros; and researcher Mariana Nogueira, from the Mental Health, Alcohol, and Other Drugs Center of Fiocruz.

Closing and Audience Participation

Then the event is expected to close by late morning and will be conducted by the master of ceremonies Andréa Nalini.

Thus, throughout the entire program, the audience will be able to participate with questions, strengthening the democratic nature of the debate.

In this way, the Correio event in January White reaffirms the role of journalism as an active agent in promoting mental health, social dialogue, and the construction of public policies that are more sensitive to the emotional needs of the Brazilian population.
