The consumer protection agency has initiated a procedure to investigate a possible “consistent infringing practice” related to contamination of the flex Jeep Renegade’s transmission by radiator fluid.

Reports from Jeep Renegade owners date back to 2021, all describing a common problem in the automatic transmission of their vehicles.

Ongoing Investigation: Procon-MG and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Minas Gerais Work Together
The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Minas Gerais (MPMG), through Procon-MG, has initiated an Administrative Procedure (PA) MPMG-0024.21.016837-3 to investigate a suspected consistent infringing practice related to contamination of the automatic transmission of the Jeep Renegade by radiator fluid.
The MPMG requests that owners provide information to the agency to assist in the investigation.
This investigation is focused on the Jeep Renegade equipped with AT6 transmission and flex engine.

The information must be sent by email to pj14consumidor@mpmg.mp.br by July 20, 2023, including the following details:
- Vehicle year/model;
- If there was repair by the dealership under warranty or at no cost;
- If there was refusal of repair by the dealership (including the date);
- If there was repair at a different workshop from the dealership (send invoices and report).
This information will be crucial for the investigation and will assist in determining the alleged infringing practice related to the automatic transmission of the Jeep Renegade.
