With the Arrival of the New Solar Power Complex in Ceará, Thousands of Jobs Will Be Created During Its Construction Phase. The Estimate, According to Data from ABSOLAR, Is That the Solar Photovoltaic Sector Will Generate Over 100 Thousand Jobs This Year
With the renewable energy sector growing every day, Ceará has been the chosen one and will gain a new and complete solar power complex, which is already being considered the largest project in Latin America and the third in the world. Only in the initial construction phase of the solar power complex, around 2 thousand jobs will be created.

Construction Approval for the New Solar Power Complex in Ceará Has Been Granted
The Coema – State Environmental Council, gave a positive approval during an extraordinary meeting on Thursday afternoon (17), granting the installation license for the new photovoltaic panel park, which will be built in the cities of Umari and Jaguaretama, in the Jaguaribe Valley, rural territory of Ceará.
The named Uruquê Photovoltaic Complex, under the domain and signed by Uruquê Renewable Energies, will have an initial capacity to generate almost 2 GW (Gigawatts), being extremely powerful and also sufficient to raise Ceará’s position in the national solar energy ranking.
With the new energy complex, Ceará rises to third place, as it currently holds fifth place in the ranking. The state government highlighted the solar energy complex project, which is 100% Cearense.
Installation of Over 5 Million Photovoltaic Panels
About 5.7 million solar panels will be installed, combining the installations of the two plants. The project will be applied over a vast area of 6 thousand hectares, with part designated for the construction of the park and the remaining part preserved as a legal reserve and ecological corridor.
According to HL Environmental Solutions, the company responsible for the project’s licensing, the site was chosen precisely because of its proximity to a connection point with the National Interconnected System (SIN), which will contribute to energy injection, in addition to the availability of extensive areas free from environmental restrictions and also favorable environmental conditions, meaning sustainable physical, biotic, and socioeconomic means.
Green Hydrogen Is One of the Priorities
The managing partners of Uruquê Renewable Energies, Jorge Lima and Sergio Bayas, reported that the approval of this grand photovoltaic energy project presented to the country gives Ceará a secure edge in the generation of green hydrogen, as the solar energy complex already has a projected start of production in 2025.
For engineer Laiz Hérida, CEO of HL Environmental Solutions, the installation of the solar energy complex represents a historical milestone for the energy matrix of the state of Ceará. Quite enthusiastic, Laiz also stated that this project will be a significant renewable energy “play” in Ceará, not to mention its representation both nationally and internationally.
The engineer and CEO of HL Environmental Solutions also highlighted another very important pillar, which is that this project will serve as a reference for other major players who will soon arrive, due to the necessity of having renewable energy for the production of green hydrogen. Furthermore, job generation will increase in Ceará, both during the construction phase of the complex and in the energy production phase, being economically favorable for the northeastern state.
