With the arrival of the new solar energy complex in Ceará, thousands of jobs will be generated during its construction phase. The estimate, according to data from ABSOLAR, is that the photovoltaic solar energy sector will generate more than 100 jobs this year

With the renewable energy sector growing every day, Ceará was the winner of the time and will gain a new and complete solar energy complex, which is already being considered the largest project in Latin America and the third in the world. In the initial phase of construction of the solar energy complex alone, around 2 jobs will be generated.

Construction approval for the new solar energy complex in Ceará was approved

Coema – State Council for the Environment, gave the positive endorsement during an extraordinary meeting, last Thursday afternoon (17), releasing the installation license for the new park of photovoltaic panels, which will be built in the cities of Umari and Jaguaretama, in the Jaguaribe Valley, rural territory of Ceará.

The named Uruquê Photovoltaic Complex, under control and signed by Uruquê Energias Renováveis, will have an initial capacity to generate almost 2 GW (Gigawatts), being extremely powerful and also enough to make Ceará rise in the national ranking of solar energy.

With the new energy complex, Ceará rises to third place, as it currently occupies fifth place in the ranking. The state-owned company highlighted the development of the solar energy complex, which is 100% from Ceará.

Installation of more than 5 million photovoltaic panels

Around 5,7 million solar panels will be installed, adding the installations of the two plants. The project will be applied in a vast area, with dimensions of 6 thousand hectares, part of which will be used for the construction of the park and the remaining part will be preserved as a legal reserve and ecological corridor.

According to HL Soluções Ambientais, the company responsible for licensing the project, the location was chosen precisely because of its proximity to the connection point with the National Interconnected System (SIN), which will contribute to the injection of energy, in addition to the availability of extensive free areas. of environmental constraints and also favorable environmental conditions, that is, sustainable physical, biotic and socioeconomic environments.

Green hydrogen is one of the priorities

The managing partners of Uruquê Energias Renováveis, Jorge Lima and Sergio Bayas, reported that the approval of this grandiose photovoltaic energy project presented to the country, gives Ceará a safe edge at the forefront of green hydrogen generation, since the solar energy complex has already has a forecast for the start of production, which is in 2025.

For engineer Laiz Hérida, CEO of HL Soluções Ambientais, the installation of the solar energy complex represents a historic milestone for the energy matrix of the state of Ceará. Quite enthusiastic, Laiz also said that this project will be a great “play” of renewable energies in Ceará, not to mention its representativeness both nationally and internationally.

The engineer and CEO of HL Soluções Ambientais also highlighted another very important pillar, which is this project that will serve as a reference for other major "players" that will arrive very soon, due to the fact that there is a need to have energy renewable energy for the production of green hydrogen. In addition, job creation will increase in Ceará, both during the construction phase of the complex and in the energy production phase, being economically favorable to the northeastern state.
