Maha Kumbh: Trains, Security, and Technology
The logistical operation is impressive. Indian Railways has put into operation over 90 special trains, totaling around 3,300 trips during the period, solely to transport devotees between neighboring cities and Prayagraj.
In terms of security, the site has been transformed into a fortress. More than 50,000 agents have been deployed to control the crowd and maintain public order.
The surveillance system includes 2,751 cameras, some equipped with artificial intelligence to measure crowd density and send real-time data to four control centers.
Other technological measures complement the scheme, such as anti-drone systems and wired drones, used to monitor the public and detect potential emergencies.
