In The Truck Drivers’ Strike Of 2018, For Example, In Ten Days Duration, Brazil Came To The Edge Of Chaos.

Brazil has over 1.7 million kilometers of roads and has the fourth-largest road network in the world! Given these figures, the importance of cargo transportation for the economy and development of the country is obvious. In the truck drivers’ strike of 2018, for example, in ten days duration, the country came to the edge of chaos.

Although freight accounts for 75% of the movement of goods, there are many problems in the sector, such as the lack of transparency and agility in the freight contracting process with truck drivers, usually without automation and user support tools.

Everlog Aims To Make Freight Contracting No Longer A Critical Issue For Organizations

To reverse this scenario, Everlog, a São Paulo-based logistics management startup, will develop a new freight purchasing platform, expected to be available to users in the first quarter of 2022.

In practice, the new service to be offered by Everlog will provide shippers (companies that require product movement between two points in the supply chain) with direct access to carriers and major cargo applications on the market, without any intermediary, ensuring stocked inventories with efficient and fast circulation of deliveries, loadings, and unloadings.

For this, the startup hired information technology (IT) professionals and plans to double in size in the coming months, as highlighted by Everlog’s founding partner, Rodrigo Fávero. “Since cargo transportation is a considerable phase for business growth, our goal is to make freight contracting no longer a critical issue for organizations.”

The App Will Consider The Needs Of The Logistics Operation Such As Transport Route, Cargo Characteristics, Departure And Arrival Dates, Etc.

For the launch of this new app, Everlog relies on technology as its “right arm,” encouraging companies to abandon activities viewed as “traditional,” but which are actually outdated because they are done manually.

With Everlog’s new tool, which will consider the needs of the logistics operation from start to finish, such as transport route, cargo characteristics, departure and arrival dates, along with the opportunity for companies to reduce transportation and operational costs, there will be a direct impact on utilizing the team for more strategic tasks, with control and management indicators.

Threat Of Indefinite Strike By Truck Drivers Does Not Deter Fuel Price Increase, December Starts With 7.2% Rise In Diesel

Even with truck drivers threatening a strike, it was not enough to contain the surge in fuel prices, especially diesel. December began with the average national price of common and S-10 diesel exceeding R$ 5.6 at the pumps, a 7.4% increase compared to the end of October, according to the latest survey by the Ticket Log Price Index (IPTL).

The common diesel registered a 7.4% increase compared to October, being sold at R$ 5.602. Meanwhile, S-10 diesel increased by 6.9%, sold at R$ 5.672. When the average is compared to the price at the end of November 2020, the increase reaches 49%.

Truck Drivers Threaten Strike And May Stop At Any Moment Against The New Increase In Diesel And Fuel Prices Charged By Petrobras

After another increase in the price of diesel, which rose by an average of R$ 0.25 per liter, truck drivers are considering a new strike. The aim of the possible stoppage is to push the government to lower fuel prices. The president of Sindtanque in Minas Gerais, the union representing fuel transporters, stated in an interview with VEJA that protests could occur at any moment. However, leaders consider this movement still sporadic.

The demands of truck drivers, who promoted a historic strike against diesel prices in 2018, continue to face constant complaints from President Bolsonaro himself about the cost of fuels.
