The Year 2023 Begins with Projections for the Opening of Approximately 80 Thousand Job Vacancies, Adding Up to About 2.2 Million Positions for Medium-Level Professionals in Industrial Base. The Sectors with the Highest Demand Across the Country Are Logistics and Metalworking.

Professionals with technical education are among the categories with the highest job expectations this year. Thus, there is a need for around 77 thousand new professionals trained in technical courses to work in job positions in the industrial base area across the country.  According to an analysis carried out by the National Industry Observatory, a data hub of the Industry System, based on the Industrial Work Map 2022 – 2025, the job vacancies intended for professionals with technical education may reach 2.2 million. This number represents approximately 18.4% of the total jobs in the country’s industrial area.

Check Out the Technical Areas with the Highest Number of Job Vacancies in 2023

The average duration of technical courses is one and a half to two years, and the main prerequisite is that the student has completed or is currently attending high school. Technical courses aim to prepare students to perform a profession, and this preparation is conducted through teaching methodologies focused on the practical market.

The areas with the highest demand for new technical professionals and the highest number of job vacancies are: Logistics and Transportation, Metalworking, Cross-Functional (covering, for example, professionals who work in research, occupational safety, and technical draftsmen), Electroelectronics, Information Technology, and Construction.

According to Márcio Guerra, executive manager of the Observatory, the projection of sectorial job vacancies reflects the economic, political, and technological context of the time and region.

One of its differentiators is the projection of the demand for education based on estimated employment for the following years.

In addition to the situation, estimates of the diffusion rates of new technologies in companies and organizational changes in production chains are considered.

“What we observe is that, even the most traditional sectors, like construction and metalworking, continue to demand many technicians, and that technological changes are already impacting the profile of professionals, with the growth of areas like IT and electroelectronics,” analyzes Guerra.

Greater Growth of the Sector and Job Vacancies Occurred During the Pandemic

The logistics area gains prominence, as many companies needed to innovate their distribution processes of goods and access to inputs during the pandemic, thus increasing the number of job vacancies opened since then.

“The pandemic required the industrial sector to find a new way to organize the production chain. These are professionals who monitor data and information to ensure that the production process incurs lower costs and better delivery,” summarizes the executive manager of the Observatory.

Currently, the main educational institution for industrial occupations in the country is the National Service for Industrial Learning (SENAI).

With the methodology of the Industrial Work Map developed by the institution, it is possible for the courses to be in tune with the labor demands present in the productive sector in their portfolios and curricula, proving to be a world reference in the prospective study of the labor market in the country.
